Teen linked to kitten murder gets slammer

Bronx teen Cheyenne Cherry, who allegedly looted an apartment and let a partner-in-crime roast her friend’s kitten in May, was convicted of attempted burglary and animal cruelty on Wednesday, December 2. Comment.

Prayers for Kingsbridge Armory at City Hall

Bronx residents harmonized on the steps of City Hall on Thursday, December 3 and asked City Council members to resist compromise in the battle for living wage jobs at the Kingsbridge Armory. Council members hinted that Mayor Michael Bloomberg has a new proposal. Comment.

Columbus High School on chopping block

The city Department of Education has announced that Christopher Columbus High School and Global Enterprise Academy, a small high school on the Columbus campus, could be closed. The schools would enroll no new ninth graders starting fall 2010, DOE spokesman Will Havemann said. Comment.
