Nineteen reputed members of Kings of Castle arrested

District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced the arrests and indictment of 19 reputed members of the King of Castle Organization on charges ranging from conspiracy to sell narcotics to murder and other offenses. Some of the defendants also belong to Sex, Money, Murder, a group affiliated with the Bloods. Two of the accused are rap singers who were recently featured in the August 26 issue of Billboard Magazine. Comment.

Right to Life Committee sets prayer event

The Bronx Right-to-Life Committee is sponsoring the fifth annual “Life Chain” on Broadway on Sunday, Oct. 5. The event will take place for one hour from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on the west side of Broadway. Participants will be displaying pro-life signs along a two-mile stretch of Broadway, starting at West 230th Street and going north to West 260th Street. Comment.

ElderServe sponsors caregiving seminar

ElderServe, the community services division of The Hebrew Home at Riverdale, announced its latest effort to help those caring for people with dementia. ElderServe will co-sponsor an educational seminar for caregivers titled “Aging Parents – Resources for Families.” The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Wednesday, October 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, Rosedale Room in building #4 at 785 Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains, NY.
