BCA announces grant recipients

The Bronx Council on the Arts to announces the recipients of the Bronx Council on the Arts/JPMorgan Chase 2007 Program Management Initiative, a regrant program that provides opportunities to upgrade program development for Bronx Arts Organizations. Eight Bronx organizations were funded $7,500 each through this year’s application process.

The 2007 awardees are:

Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum will use the grant to improve the marketing plan for their adult and children programs.

Bronx Opera Company will use the grant to develop a new upgraded publicity package including an attractive season brochure, additional publicity in local weeklies together with local advertising, and an increase in mailings to members and supporters.

Bronx Symphony Orchestra will use the grant to begin a transition from all volunteer management to a paid management staff.

Center Stage Community Playhouse will use the grant to hire a marketing consultant.

En Foco will use the grant to add much needed staffing, in the form of consultants, to assist them managing their DCA funded projects.

Mass Transit Street Theatre & Video will use the grant for the expansion of hours of administrative director from 12 hours a week to 18 hours a week and to hire a public relations consultant for increasing promotion and publicity.

Mudbone Collective Theatre will use the grant to engage a financial consultant to assist with record keeping, financial projections and fiscal accountability for their DCA project and related programs.

Orchestra of the Bronx will use the grant for increased outreach and marketing of their concert series, expenditures that are not covered in their DCA grant.
