Stevenson 16 – Hunter College High School 6: Stevenson remains the surprise of the Bronx A Division, going 10-3 on the season and remaining in 3rd place thanks to a strong performance on Friday, May 2, at the Great Lawn in Central Park. For Stevenson, Yanilka Tejeda (6 IP, 4 H, 6 R, 2 ER, 10 K’s) picked up the win behind the amazing offensive efforts of Christine Robles (4-for-5, 2 R, 5 RBI’s, 3 2B), Nathaly Campos (3-for-3, 4 R, 3 RBI’s) and Shanay Bonilla (3-for-5, 2 R, 4 RBI’s).
Bronx Science 18 – Walton 2: The tough times continued for Walton (1-8), as the Wolverines (8-3) devoured their competitors behind Elizabeth Rubel (3-for-3, 4 R, 6 RBI’s, 1 HR), Alexandra Krawczuk (2-for-3, 2 R, 2 RBI’s, 1 3B), Kayla Martinez (2-for-3, 1 R, 3 RBI’s) and pitcher Cornine Fish (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 4 K’s). Science remains in 4th place in the Bronx A Division.
Kennedy 14 – George Washington 3: Despite struggles all season, Kennedy (6-6) was able to break free from their slump, taking advantage of errors and wild pitching from Michelle Padilla (4 IP, 14 R, 6 ER, 7 BB) to pick up the win.
Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy 24 – Monroe 1: Riverdale continues its stronghold of the B Division, going 10-0 on the year in dominating fashion. Leading the way to victory was Janelyn Witkowski (2-for-3, 4 R, 3 RBI’s, 1 HR), Kandace Coston (3-for-5, 2 R, 2 RBI’s, 1 HR), Nateil Ocasio (2-for-4, 3 R, 2 RBI’s, 1 2B, 1 HR), Nelyssa Rosario (3-for-4, 3 R, 3 RBI’s, 2 3B, 1 HR) and Dylan Prill (5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 8 K’s).
