Monroe 3 – Walton 2: Monroe (12-1) moved one step closer to clinching the Bronx A East with help from Elias Todman (2-for-3, 1 R), Juan Arroyo (2-for-4, 1 R), Raymond Molina (2-for-3, 1 RBI), and Resto Cruz (2-for-2, 1 RBI, 1 Double).  Arroyo (7 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 5 K’s) pitched a classic.  For Walton (9-5), who took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the 4th inning, Ronny Vargas (3-for-3, 1 R, 2 doubles) and Joel Delorbe (6 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 HP, 5 K’s) played strong in the loss.

Clinton 9 – South Bronx 3: Monroe will play Clinton this week with hopes of clinching the top spot, but the Governors (10-4) have been on a roll, looking good even in a 2-1 loss to Kennedy last week. Clinton rebounded with two straight wins over South Bronx (4-8), the latest of which came on Thursday, May 8, at home, thanks to the offense of Alnardo Rodriguez (3-for-3, 3 RBI’s, 1 Double), Arjenis Carmona (2-for-4, 1 R, 3 RBI, 1 Triple), and Harold Fich (2-for-3, 3 R, 2 RBI’s, 2 Doubles).

Lehman 15 – Columbus 1: Lehman (13-0) made their home fans happy on May 6, winning the first of two straight games against Columbus to remain the only perfect PSAL team.  Luis Marrero (2-for-2, 3 R, 2 RBI, 1 Triple, 1 HR) and Laurence Marsach (4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 5 K’s) led Lehman in the win.

Gompers 4 – Kennedy 3: On May 6, Juan Hilario (7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 6 K’s) won a pitcher’s duel, with help from Antonio Mateo (3-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 Double), against William Burgos (6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 1 BB, 5 K’s) to drop Kennedy to 12-2 on the season.  Gompers (8-5) would lose the rematch 5-2 on May 8.

Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy 4 – Morris 1: Morris (11-1) lost its first game of the season on Wednesday, May 7, at Crotona Park, giving way to a strong pitching effort from Riverdale’s Yahnny Arias (7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 4 K’s).  Riverdale (12-1) also had help from Malcolm Harper (2-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI) and Matthew Solano (2-for-3, 1 R) to move atop the B Division.

Jane Addams 1 – Truman 0: Alexis German drove in Gabriel Lebron, who had stolen both 2nd and 3rd base, in the 1st inning for the Jaguars’ only run of the game.  It was enough to increase Addams’ record to 12-2 in the B Division.
