SUN, MAY 11th, 3:50 a.m. – 671 Prospect Ave. Authorities are looking into the shooting of a security guard. The guard was found with a bullet wound to the leg and was transported to Lincoln Medical Center for treatment.
SUN, MAY 11th, 4:10 a.m. – Brook Ave. and East 141 St. The staff at Lincoln Medical Center assisted a man who had been shot. The male victim, who was listed in extremely critical condition, was suffering from a bullet wound to the head.
SAT, MAY 10th, 6:05 a.m. – 1275 Lafayette Ave. Police working in the Hunts Point section removed a gun from local streets. Officers vouched this time a 380-caliber pistol.
MON, MAY 12th, 8:40 p.m. – Oak Point and Bryant Aves. Undercover police officers arrested a suspect while removing another gun from Bronx streets. Taken off the street was a 22-caliber semi-automatic pistol.
TUES, MAY 13th, 7:15 p.m. – 950 St. John St. An unknown person shot a male once in the head. The victim was suffering a bullet wound to the head when he arrived at Lincoln Medical Center by private vehicle for medical assistance. Police officers were summoned to the medical facility to help start the inquiry.
WED, MAY 7th, 12:00 p.m. – Union Ave. and East 168 St. A police officer was injured while arresting a culprit for another crime. The injured officer was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital suffering from an injury to the wrist.
THURS, MAY 8th, 2:10 a.m. – Clinton Ave. and East 169 St. The staff at Lincoln Medical Center treat a 22-year-old male for a bullet wound to the right leg. Police officers at the scene gathered information that will help the detectives with an inquiry.
FRI, MAY 9th, 8:15 p.m. – Third Ave. and Claremont Pkwy. Two arrests were made by responding police officers involving cross complaints. An on duty emergency medical tech and a motorist were arrested each charged with assault.
SAT, MAY 10th, 3:55 a.m. – 1068 Ward Ave. A black male in his twenties was rushed to a local hospital after being shot. The unidentified victim was reported in critical condition. Investigators are hoping to find a witness that can provide information to what had occurred.
WED, MAY 7th, 9:00 a.m. – 108 East Clarke Pl. Authorities are looking into the death of an infant. The seven and half month old was found not breathing. The little girl was rushed to Bronx Lebanon Hospital where she expired at 9:30 a.m.
WED, MAY 7th, 12:50 p.m. – Monroe Ave. and East 170 St. Police are looking into a double assault. A 20-year-old male was stabbed in the stomach while a 17-year-old male was suffering from a slash wound to the left forearm. The pair arrived at near-by Bronx Lebanon Hospital on their own. Police were then sent to the medical facility to begin their inquiry.
THURS, MAY 8th, 8:22 p.m. – 220 East 167 St. A 20 year old man was transported to Lincoln Medical Center. Medical officials indicated that the black male had been shot in the buttocks.
THURS, MAY 8th, 9:10 p.m. – 775 Concourse Village East. Authorities are looking into a death. An unidentified male apparently took his own life with a bullet wound to the chest area.
FRI, MAY 9th, 7:40 p.m. – 1384 Grand Concourse. Police conducted a search for a Hispanic male who robbed a local business. The thief, believed to be about 25 to 30 years old, displayed a handgun during the robbery that netted him over four thousand dollars.
SAT, MAY 10th, 9:58 p.m. – Morris Ave. and East 174 St. Police investigators are looking into a stabbing. An unidentified male victim was stabbed once in the chest after a chain was taken from him. The injured male was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment of the stab wound.
SUN, MAY 11th, 6:00 a.m. – 773 Concourse Village East. Local police officer arrested an off duty city worker charging the person with assault during a family dispute. The Heath and Hospital Corporation employed the culprit as a hospital police officer.
THURS, MAY 8th, 2:25 p.m. – Orchard Beach. Various police units responded to assist in a search of a wooded area of Pelham Bay Park for a man who threatened to take his own life. Police officers on foot, and even in the area searched the area surrounding the beach as other officers worried about by-stander’s safety. Searching officers requested the services of a K-9 unit besides a low flying helicopter. Police experts from detective squads responded to assist. Their services were too late. By the time police found the man he had already shot himself in the head. The man was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center where he expired at 5 p.m.
SAT, MAY 10th, 5:30 a.m. – 1067 Calhoun Ave. A newly born baby was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center. Unfortunately, the infant was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities are looking into the death.
SAT, MAY 10th, 12:35 p.m. – 3712 East Tremont Ave. Authorities indicated that a motorist being issued a double-parking summons in the Throggs Neck section suffered a fatal cardiac attack. The unidentified driver died at a local hospital despite effects to assist the victim.
WED, MAY 7th, 4:25 p.m. – 1015 East 214 St. Additional police officers were dispatched into the Williamsbridge area after a shooting occurred. Officials report that both victims were transported to Jacobi Medical Center as local police officers started to gather information about what had occurred. The additional officers canvassed the area looking for the culprit.
FRI, MAY 9th, 12:40 a.m. – East 233 St. and White Plains Rd. An arrest was made after an off duty police officer was injured during a dispute. The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center suffering from a graze wound to the head area. Investigators arrested a suspect.
SAT, MAY 10th, 6:10 p.m. – Barnes Ave. and East 219 St. An under-cover police officer arrested a suspect who was in possession of an illegal gun. Recovered by authorities was a 22-caliber pistol.
SAT, MAY 10th, 11:40 p.m. – 810 East 180 St. The victim of a shooting was rushed to an area medical facility by a family member. The victim was suffering a bullet wound to the right arm when he arrived at St. Barnabas Hospital. Police were alerted and the inquiry has begun by local detectives.
SUN, MAY 11th, 5:35 p.m. – 558 East 181 St. Two males who had been shot walked into their area hospital seeking medical assistance. The two Hispanic males went to St. Barnabas Hospital seeking care for the bullet wounds. Police investigators were summoned to the hospital to start their inquiry.
MON, MAY 12th, 10:30 a.m. – 411 East Fordham Rd. Authorities are looking into the death of a male. The victim, apparently took his own life, was found with a legal documents attached to his body. The Medical Examiner’s office will confirm the police suspicions.
TUES, MAY 13th, 11:50 p.m. – 1912 Crotona Ave. Another gun was removed from Bronx streets. Authorities in the East Tremont section recovered this time a 22-caliber semi-automatic pistol.
THURS, MAY 8th, 2:30 p.m. – Pelham Pkwy. and Morris Park Communities. Police officers from Westchester County chased and apprehended a culprit over the county line. Police officers from New Rochelle followed a suspect into the Bronx along the Hutchinson River Parkway. Upon exiting the roadway the fleeing culprit took to local streets in an attempt to lose the chasing law enforcement officers. Maybe what he was unaware of was that there was also a helicopter from Westchester County overhead providing his location to the officers. A New York City police chopper joined in the pursuit, but broke off the chase to respond to the search at Orchard Beach. Before long the New Rochelle officers arrested a suspect in the area of Rhinelander Ave. terminating the chase.
THURS, MAY 8th, 5:20 p.m. –1960 Williamsbridge Rd. An assault on a traffic agent lead to the arrest of the motorist. The city worker was attempting to scan a vehicle registration when pushed by a motorist. Responding police officers arrested the motorist.
MON, MAY 12th, 1:30 p.m. – 975 Allerton Ave. Additional police officers where rushed into the Allerton area after a bank was robbed. A black male was passed to an employee demanding money. No gun was displayed, but the thief was given $2,000 in cash before he fled.
TUES, MAY 13th, 2:50 a.m. – Eastchester Rd. and Blondell Ave. Police officers patrolling the Westchester Square area attempted to stop a vehicle. The driver refused to stop, and the police officers followed. The unidentified motorist attempted to cut the police officers off, but instead struck the police car ‘s front end. The suspect was eventually arrested with out any injuries being reported.
SUN, MAY 11th, 2:40 p.m. – 150 West 225 St. A 40 year old Hispanic male barricaded himself in his home after having a dispute with his family. Authorities ensured that all the family members were safe and out of the apartment as the stand off took place. Eventually the man surrendered to authorities without anyone being injured.
FRI, MAY 9th, 1:15 p.m. – 2374 University Ave. A 32-year-old Hispanic male was arrested after he was found in possession of a 32-caliber pistol.
SUN, MAY 11th, 1:00 a.m. – Webster Ave. and East 204 St. In an attempt to prevent injury to pedestrians, patrolling police officers kept an eye on an unsafe area. Apparently a metal gate in front of a commercial business caused an area to collapse causing a hole. The area was blocked off, but that did not stop the police officers watching the area in ensure public safety.
THURS, MAY 8th, 5:30 p.m. – 1064 Cauldwell Ave. Battalion 26 commanded the initial extinguishing operation until the 6th Division arrived on the scene. Engine 50, 82, and 71 with Ladders 19, and Tower Ladder 31 were sent to the scene near Boston Rd. and East 165 St. at 5:30 p.m. Within three minutes a call went out for additional help as the fire was located in a six-story high apartment house. Engine 73, Ladder 55, Squad 41, Rescue 3, Battalion 17, and Division 6 were assigned. Battalion 26 shortly indicated that there was a fire in an apartment. A hose line was in operations, while searches were being conducted. Division 6 arrived and assumed command of the incident. At 5:44 p.m., the Deputy Chief in the 6th Division indicated that a second hose line was placed into operation and that ladder companies were checking for any extension of fire. Five minutes went by before the chief indicated that the fire was contained. It was placed under control at 5:52 p.m.
FRI, MAY 9th, 8:45 a.m. – 950 Woodycrest Ave. Haz-mat units were requested at a Highbridge area apartment house. Officials estimated that about 1200 gallons of heating fuel spilled as the oil was being transferred. The tank apparently ruptured causing the hazardous condition. Fire and police units worked with other agencies to ensure a speedy clean up of the detrimental condition.
FRI, MAY 9th, 8:10 p.m. – 500 Trinity Ave. A fire was reported in a residential building near East 147 St. Dispatched to the scene were Engine 73, 83, Squad 41, Ladders 42, and 29 all under the command of Battalion 14. Units as they arrived indicated that there was a serious fire in a six-story apartment house. Additional fire units were dispatched to help battle the blaze. They were Engine 71, Ladder 55, Rescue 3, Squad 61, Battalion 26, and Division 6 who would assume command of the extinguishing operation. Several minutes went by when Squad 61 reported being involved in a vehicle accident at East Tremont Ave. and Bronx Park Ave. causing injury to a civilian. Meanwhile at the fire scene, Battalion 14 requested addition help since the blaze was on the top floor in the center section of the apartment house. Engine 60 and Tower Ladder 17 were sent to help. Squad 288 from Queens was sent to replace Squad 61 who had to remain at the accident scene in the West Farms section. Two hose lines were placed into operation to help contain and finally extinguish all the fire. Battalion 14 indicated that all the initial searches indicated that no one was trapped. By 8:32 p.m., Division 6 declared the fire under control.
