Graduates return for Career Day

On April 22, the sophomore class of Monsignor Scanlan High School attended the school’s annual Career Day presentations.

Each sophomore had three opportunities to learn about a variety of future work options. Elizabeth Boniche (04) shared information about her work as a personal financial analyst. Angely Fadul (02) explained the excitement of working as a researcher for the United Nations. Roberto Montiel (02) spoke about investment banking.

Graduates from 1963 included Anne Avenius, who spoke of E-Commerce/construction; Ray Callinan, representing those who work as firefighters; and  Fred Casiello, who talked about real estate/engineering. Vincent Cavallo (69) explained about his work as an attorney.

From the class of 1973, Scanlan students learned more about nursing from Roseanna Bunyan. She was joined by her husband, a police officer for NYC. Christopher Linne (74) described his work as a detective and the field of law enforcement. Ramon Velez (74) shared information about being a real estate developer.

From 1979, Louis and Maria Prezioso talked of hospital work.

Edward Haggerty (80), a stage manager for the Disney Cruise Lines; Dr. Patrick McGuire (80), associate dean of C.W. Post College; and Jacqueline Civitano (85), an attorney, spoke about their chosen professions.

Matthew Wilbekin (91), a special ed teacher; Michelle Gil (94), involved with college recruitment; Maurice Owens (96), who works for the White House security; and David Torres (96), who works for the Transportation Administration as part of Homeland Security, all shared information about the responsibility and satisfaction of their work.
