Gallery Lounge brings South Beach to Mott Haven

The Gallery Lounge’s long awaited grand opening was held on Saturday, June 7.  More than 300 people crowded into the spacious and luxurious venue to see the unveiling of the area’s first Video Jock dance system and to sample the Asian Fusion Sushi selections prepared by well known Sushi chef Ricky Chen under the guidance and direction of Chef Peter Bonizio of the Culinary Institute of America.

Hailed as the coming of “South Beach to the South Bronx” by owner and visionary Michael Ungaro, the trendy art decorated locale sports a state-of-the-art video and audio system where VJ-DJ Drastic mixes popular music videos on five giant screens throughout the main floor.  Located in the renovated Piano Factory building at 26 Bruckner Boulevard (under the History Channel sign  by the 3rd Avenue Bridge to Manhattan), the outside of the building is aglow in a spectacular light show that awakens this up and coming area of Mott Haven as the gateway to the Bronx.

Saturday night’s festivities were highlighted by a visit from the Bronx’ own R&B star Tony Sunshine, performing his hit She’s Like The Wind, and a special guest appearance by world famous DJ Peter Presta, performing for the crowd for the first time ever in the Bronx.

In addition to serving the finest Sushi selections in the area (and, yes, we’re including Manhattan in that claim) The Gallery features a unique menu of specialty martinis, a comfortable and spacious VIP area with bottle service, free valet parking, and a diverse selection of entertainment and after work specials for those who want to unwind and redefine their night life.  The Gallery is open starting at 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and is available for special events and private parties.  For further information, reservations, or event planning, contact Peter Bonizio or Robert Salese at (718) 402-1400.
