Hutch facility offers new water therapy

After just over a month in their new location, the staff at Westchester Square Physical Therapy is feeling right at home.

“The space is phenomenal,” WSPT owner Daniel Seidler said about the business’ move to the Hutchinson Metro Center’s Tower 1 in May. “It’s like no other therapy place you’ve ever been to.”

Seidler said the change of venue was the perfect solution to converge his Westchester Square office, where he’d practiced for five and a half years, with his three-year young second location in the Hutch Metro.

The 11,000 square foot, one floor facility, enables the practice to not only boast of a great view, but also offer clients a truly unique therapy experience.

“We have all new state-of-the-art equipment,” Seidler said, pointing out WSPT’s Hydroworx Therapy Pool.

One-of-a-kind in the Bronx, the consistent 92-degree aquatic rehabilitation tool is fully equipped with a built in treadmill, resistance jets and pulsating massage hoses.

Seidler said the pool’s technological advances are safely expediting the body’s ability to heal, with amazing results.

“We can get athletes jogging four weeks before they’d be able to jog,” he explained about the body’s ability to exercise in water far beyond the extent of any land activity. “There aren’t any other pools like this in the Bronx.”

Currently integrating this innovative resource into their other programs, Seidler said WSPT continues to specialize in the treatment of orthopedic and sports conditions.

More recently, WSPT also began offering a comprehensive program for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, which includes anodyne therapy, soft tissue massage, mobilization, strengthening and balance and gait training.

And it’s only going to get better.

“We will continue to enhance the physical therapy treatments,” Seidler said.

Focusing on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, he added WSPT is proud to offer the Wellness Program, which utilizes the business’ new studio space for Pilates and yoga classes, self-defense and martial arts courses and massage therapy.

“We really provide a platform for people to exercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Seidler said.

Priding the business as “world class care right around the corner,” Seidler added the new easily accessible location that provides tons of on-site parking further enables WSPT to treat the borough’s therapy needs.

WSPT is open Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call (718) 409-9444 or visit www.wspt.org.
