Lots of memories were made during this week in June.
First off, happy anniversary to Tommy and Ashley Guerriero on June 25, 2008. Needless to say, we all wish you a year full of happiness and a lifetime of love.
And on Friday, June 27, 2008, it’s happy birthday time for my #1 daughter, Tara Guerriero. Girlfriend, hope this year proves to be the best ever!

The Drama Club of the Preparatory Academy at P.S. 71 made up of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students, performed their presentation, Ann Appetite for Murder, on June 9, 2008, during a PTA meeting. Despite the heat, the students did a wonderful job, and were warmly applauded by parents and guests. We’d like to thank our PTA Executive Board, headed by Mickey Neal, our principal, Mr. Cooper, and all the staff and aides who always support our performances. The club is under the direction of Debbie Briscoe and Noel Sanders with assistance from Donna Galella. Our children came to practice on Saturdays to be a part of the show. They deserve much credit for their dedication. Special Get Well wishes to a member, Anna Prestopino, who is recuperating in the hospital. The cast included: Tiana Quattrucci, Celine Macrino, Brandon Velez, Peter Dellipaoli, Angelica Benitez, Rosemarie Martinez, Veronica Ignico, Antonio Freyre, John Mari, Robert Sulla, Carl Veith, Ebony Calhoun, Amanda Altuchoff, John Velez, Jahna Romano, Anthony Liccese, Vanessa Neal, Samantha Sun, Rosemarie Reyes, Marc Corcoran, Nicholas Reyes, Gary D’Amico and Christopher Smith.
Congratulations to our friend, Eric Delgado, who is graduating on June 14, 2008 from 9th grade from St. Dominic’s Catholic School. Love, Maria and John Gaffney.

To my daughter, Dawn DiMartini, 10 years have passed since you were taken from us. Instead of celebrating your birthday that day, we mourned your passing. The vision of my last image of you haunts me. They say we will all meet again. I hope to see you and hug and kiss you. We all miss you. Mom, Dad, Liza and Chris.
Elaine Fiorio and Rickey Ricciardi were married on Saturday, June 14, 2008. Rickey planned a surprise destination wedding in the Caribbean in the islands of Turks and Caicos. They were married barefoot on the beach at Grace Bay Club. Elaine works as a legislative aide in the office of Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, and Rickey is an operating engineer for IUOE Local 14. After almost 17 years together, Rickey finally decided to make Elaine an “honest woman!”
