Sanitation nabs recycling violators

Sanitation Commissioner John J. Doherty announced that Sanitation Police seized and impounded 10 vehicles in the Bronx that were involved in incidents of theft of recyclables during the month of May. The DSNY Police Force, composes of uniformed and plainclothes sanitation police officers, patrol areas where large amounts of curbside recyclables are being removed unlawfully.

The impoundments were: a 1995 red Ford Aerostar, owned by Iyke Churchhill, of 932 Lafayette Street, NC; a 1998 Blue Dodge Ram, owned by Edgar Maldonado of 354 Cypress Avenue; a 1996 White Ford truck, owned by Adriano Izquieta of 55 Lasalle Street, New York; a 1995 blue Chevrolet van, owned by Vincente Delatoree, of 509 E. 183rd Street; a 1994 white GMC van, owned by Vivian Malcolm of 806 E. 233rd Street; a 2003 white Chevrolet 3500 owned by Andre Hinds of 4321 Wickham Avenue; a 1993 burgundy Ford pickup truck, owned by Freddie Moreno of 2333 Barnes Avenue; a 2005 white Ford F250, owned by Carlos Ferrari of 1877 W. Parkway Boulevard, W. Valley, UT; a 1996 red Ford Explorer, owned by Antonio Rodriguez of P.O. Box 458; and a 1988 black GMC pickup, owned by Beverly Taylor of 103 Juniper Hill Road, White Plains, N.Y.
