Samuel Young Legion Post 620

Hello all!

Just a reminder, Sunday, July 27, we are going to the VA Hospital to host a barbecue for the shut-ins. We meet here at the Post at 11:30 a.m. and will travel over to the VA.

On Saturday, August 2, Those Guys, a live Southern rock band, will be playing here on our patio at 8 p.m. A barbecue is included. Call the Post for details at (718) 822-8873.

The next day, Sunday, August 3, a Post Family Barbecue will be held on the patio. This event includes volleyball, and lawn games. Bring the kids.

A disabled Vietnam Airborne veteran and three-time Purple Heart winner, Rudy Thomas, Sr., took his citizenship oath at the Brooklyn Federal Courthouse on Wednesday, July 9, this taking place 40 years after the war, his discharge papers stated he was a citizen but the bureaucratic denizens said no. You see, Thomas is a native of Trinidad and was never a citizen. He enlisted in the Army with the understanding after his service he would become one.
