Rock on the Bronx

Rock on the Bronx

ITEM: Bronx rock lives in all its infamous glory in a local band called The Broken Steps!

On August 21, these guys will be at The Underscore in NYC at 9:30 p.m. This crunch trio of self taught musicians from the Pelham Bay and Locust Point area are Steve Virello on drums, Will Marengo on guitar/vocal and Alex Wiercinski on bass.

Certain bands have been popping up in the area that are a little bit out of the main stream; bands that go with their own vision; bands like London Egg, Eileen’s Cure and now The Broken Steps.

The Broken Steps confidently have one foot in the styles of the past and one foot in the future. It’s a very blues-based, riff-driven hard rock sound. The sound is straight on, ironic and gloriously confident all at the same time. The Broken Steps pull off the hard feat of always letting their catchy fun shine through while taking what they do very seriously. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thebrokensteps.

ITEM: Just Nuts is a great cover band that does oldies, rock and roll, disco and 80’s dance stuff. Go www.justnutsmusic.com for shows and booking!

Rock on. Rock out.
