40th PCT.

WED, JULY 30th, 1:10 a.m. – 595 Trinity Ave. The staff in the emergency room at Lincoln Medical Center treated a male for a bullet wound. The unidentified male arrived suffering from a bullet wound to the arm according to officials. Local detectives are looking into the incident. 

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 6:20 a.m. – 232 Cypress Ave. Authorities were notified that a 2-month-old baby expired. Officials indicated that the death was not suspicious and the baby was born premature.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 10:45 p.m. – Jackson Ave. and East 152 St. A 45 caliber pistol was removed from the streets after authorities arrested an 18-year-old black female. The teen could be facing a year in jail if found guilty during her court trail.

41st PCT.

WED, JULY 30th, 12:40 a.m. – 707 Faile St. An unknown person broke into a closed store. According to officials at the scene, the thief broke into a dry cleaning establishment. No arrest was made, but the incident is under investigation.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 11:10 p.m. – 783 Beck St. A 23-year-old Hispanic male was arrested when he was found in possession of an illegal handgun. Recovered was a 380-caliber semi-automatic pistol.

MON, AUG. 4th, 3:55 a.m. – 1098 Lafayette Ave. Emergency units arriving at the Hunts Point location found three males who had been shot. The three victims were transported to Lincoln Medical Center in extremely critical condition. One of the males expired officials report, thus turning the incident into a homicide. Three suspects were arrested as two guns were recovered. The inquiry is continuing.  

TUES, AUG. 5th, 12:30 a.m. – Halleck St. and Randall Ave. A search of a tractor-trailer truck in the Hunts Point section netted federal law enforcement officials a load of drugs. Armed with a search warrant officials from the Drug Enforcement Task Force seized 200 kilos of cocaine. The illegal drugs were located in hidden compartments of the vehicle.  

42nd PCT.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 2:40 p.m. – 921 East 173 St. Officials indicated that two males robbed $780 from a bodega. The robbery occurred at gunpoint with the pair fled toward Southern Blvd. No injuries were reported.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 9:30 p.m. – 770 East 165 St. A suspect was arrested after a 17-year-old black male was attacked. The teenage victim was slashed in the back and arm according to officials at Lincoln Medical Center. Arriving police officers nabbed the suspect and recovered a weapon.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 10:35 p.m. – 1153 Prospect Ave. An 18-year-old male walked into a local hospital seeking assistance for a bullet wound. An unknown person shot the teen in the back. After being injured, the teen found his own way to St. Barnabas Hospital seeking help for a bullet wound to the back. Police were alerted and an inquiry was launched.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 11:00 p.m. – East 165 St. and Trinity Ave. Undercover police officers from the Bronx Anti-Crime Unit nabbed a suspect who was in possession of a 32-caliber pistol.

MON, AUG. 4th, 12:50 a.m. – Prospect Ave and Freeman St. A 9-mm pistol was removed from Bronx streets due to the effect of undercover police officers. This time, police removed a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol with the arrest of its owner.

43rd PCT.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 7:30 p.m. – Bruckner Blvd. and Castle Hill Ave. The death of a pedestrian is under police review. Officers from Highway 1’s Accident Investigation Squad were requested at the hectic intersection after the victim was struck and killed. The inquiry is underway.

MON, AUG. 4th, 9:00 p.m. – 805 Taylor Ave. Officials are looking into the robbery of a 67-year-old black male. The elderly man was the victim of a push-in type robbery.

44th PCT.

FRI, AUG. 1st, 10:30 a.m. – West 179 St. and Major Deegan Expwy. A culprit trying to evade authorities and jail was injured during the escape attempt. The culprit jumped off of an embankment breaking an ankle. The suspect was treated at St. Barnabas Hospital and released to authorities who proceeded to process the arrest. 

FRI, AUG. 1st, 3:00 p.m. – College Ave. and East 165 St. Two young males were arrested after police found them to be in possession of a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol. Arrested in the Morrisiana community were a 19 and a 20-year-old black males. 

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 11:05 p.m. – 1478 Walton Ave. An inquiry was lunched after three teenagers were shot. A 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg, while a 14-year-old girl was shot once in the foot. They were both treated at St. Barnabas Hospital. A 15-year-old boy received a grazed wound to the right arm. All three victims were reported in stable condition.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 12:05 a.m. – 1142 College Ave. Undercover police officers arrested a suspect who was in possession of an illegal gun. Recovered was a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol by officers from the Bronx Anti-Crime Squad.  

MON, AUG. 4th, 6:55 p.m. – A baby who fell two floors out of an open window was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center. As the family eat dinner, the baby climbed onto a bed that was adjacent to an open window. The baby fell from the window, down two stories. The young child was reported responsive and conscious at the medical facility.

45th PCT.

WED, JULY 30th, 4:30 a.m. – Investigators are looking into a report that a woman had been sexually attacked. The unidentified victim accepted a ride from a male motorist from a South Bronx street corner. The driver headed his vehicle toward a secluded area near a local Bronx motel. Once in the remote area, the driver pulled out a gun telling the victim that she is not going anywhere. The woman was raped before the driver fled. Authorities were notified and transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center for assistance.  

THURS, JULY 31st, 2:45 a.m. – 140 Alcot Pl. Authorities are looking into an incident where several shots had been fired. A 27-year-old man informed officials that several persons had menaced him with a 22-caliber pistol. The culprits fired several shots into the floor attempting to scare the victim. Detectives are now looking into the incident. No injuries were reported.  

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 6:15 p.m. – Orchard Beach. A police officer is credited with saving the life of a 51-year-old Hispanic woman. The officer while on patrol at the beach rescued the woman from the waters of Long Island Sound after detecting that the woman was in distress. Officer Baker jumped into the water, gave the woman a life vest, and swam her to the shore.

46th PCT.

WED, JULY 30th, 9:30 p.m. – 1846 Anthony Ave. Authorities recovered a 38-caliber pistol. The handgun was removed from the street when a culprit was arrested. 

WED, JULY 30th, 6:45 p.m. – 33 West 174 St. The staff at St, Barnabas Hospital came to the aid of a 23-year-old black male. The young man had been stabbed. The hospital crew took care of the victim’s medical needs as detectives gathered information about the attack.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 2:40 a.m. – 2090 Morris Ave. Police were alerted that two males had been shot. A 26-year-old black male was suffering from three bullet wounds while a 29-year-old man was shot only once. Both men were treated at St. Barnabas Hospital as other officers searched for evidence and witnesses.

47th PCT.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 12:35 a.m. – 715 East 226 St. Authorities are trying to gather information about a double shooting. A 24-year-old black male was shot several times about the body according to officials at Montifiore Hospital where the man was treated. The second victim was admitted to Jacobi Medical Center with a bullet wound to the right thigh. 

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 3:20 a.m. – 953 East 223 St. An undercover police officer nabbed a 23-year-old black male for illegal possession of a gun. Sean Thomas could face a year in jail if found guilty in court. Removed from the street was a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol.

MON, AUG. 4th, 10:45 p.m. – 4433 White Plains Rd. A 19-year-old male was removed from local streets after he was nabbed with an illegal gun. Recovered by police was a 357-caliber pistol.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 3:40 a.m. – 3822 Dyre Ave. Police removed another weapon from the Baychester community when they arrested its owner. This time a foreign gun was recovered.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 5:00 a.m. – 4104 Digney Ave. Police continued to look for additional weapons in the North Bronx. Recovered and vouched was a 357-caliber pistol.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 5:15 a.m. – 1160 East 229 St. This time a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol was recovered from the Baychester community causing the arrest of its owner.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 8:30 p.m. – 2089 Bussing Ave. Despite the effects of law enforcement official to remove guns from the North Bronx, a 19-year-old male was shot once in the right leg. The teen was admitted to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 10:40 p.m. – Baychester Ave. and Boston Rd. Three more persons were arrested as another gun was recovered by undercover police officers. This time two black males, ages 24 and 29, along with a 25-year-old Caucasian woman, were arrested as a 32-caliber pistol was recovered.  

48th PCT.

THURS, JULY 31st, 4:30 a.m. – 2111 Hughes Ave. A 19-year-old male required medical assistance after being shot in the arm. The victim walked into St. Barnabas Hospital, a few blocks away from the crime scene, seeking medical assistance. Police were alerted to the incident, which launched an inquiry.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 4:15 p.m. – 4268 Third Ave. A black male at knifepoint robbed an establishment. The thief made off with computer monitors and around eighteen thousand dollars in cash.

MON, AUG. 4th, 12:10 a.m. – 719 Crotona Park North. The staff at St. Barnabas Hospital treated two males for gunshot wounds. A 35-year-old Hispanic male was suffering from a bullet wound to the chest while a 19-year-old male had been shot in the arm. The two were treated at the hospital as investigators attempted to find evidence and witnesses.

49th PCT.

THURS, JULY 31st, 11:00 a.m. – 1941 Williamsbridge Rd. A payroll robbery occurred inside the new Capital One Saving Bank. A black male pushed a woman to the ground while inside the finical facility. The man took a payroll from the woman fleeing with twenty-five thousand dollars. 

FRI, AUG. 1st, 12:45 a.m. – Allerton Ave. and Eastchester Rd. A 24-year-old man was arrested after he was found with a gun in his possession. Recovered by police was a 22-caliber Ruger pistol. 

50th PCT.

THURS, JULY 31st, 11:25 p.m. – East 233 St. and Major Deegan Expressway. Two persons were struck by a tractor-trailer. A 38-year-old man expired at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville 90 minutes after the accident occurred. A female victim was admitted in extreme critical condition to Westchester County Medical Center. The incident is under investigation.

52nd PCT.

WED, JULY 30th, 2:00 a.m. – East Bedford Park Blvd. and Briggs Ave. Two police officers required medical attention after their police vehicle was involved in an accident. The officers were responding to a dispatch that indicated that a person was being assaulted. The police car had a green light officials indicated when they were struck by another vehicle that failed to stop. The two officers were suffering from back and neck pains upon arriving at St. Barnabas Hospital.

THURS, JULY 31st, 8:55 a.m. – Grand Concourse and East 205 St. A person who walked in front of a police motorcycle required medical assistance. The pedestrian with minor injuries was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital as the injured police officer was removed to Jacobi Medical Center.  

FRI, AUG. 1st, 10:00 a.m. – 3540 Decatur Ave. The staff at St. Barnabas Hospital’s emergency room treated a 40-year-old black male. The man was transported to the hospital suffering from a stab wound to the upper back.

SUN, AUG. 3rd, 10:25 p.m. – 3511 Putnam Pl. Police are looking for the culprit who conducted a home invasion in the north end of the Norwood community. The victim, a 53-year-old black male escaped injury, but lost two thousand dollars to the thief.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 11:25 p.m. – Jerome Ave. and West 192 St. A female was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. The woman had been stabbed according to official once in the chest area. Detectives have been assigned to investigate the attack.

Housing

THURS, JULY 31st, 9:00 a.m. – Housing police officers from PSA # 7 were alerted that a 6-year-old boy had been sexually assaulted. The child was treated at Jacobi Medical Center. Detectives from the Special Victim Squad are assigned to conduct the inquiry. 

Transit

WED, JULY 30th, 1:40 a.m. – East 138 St. and Grand Concourse. A man was taken to Lincoln Medical Center after falling onto the tracks of the IRT line. Transit District # 11 police officers assisted the man who was transported to the closest hospital. Upon examination is was determined that the victim was intoxicated, but only suffered from scratches and bruises.

Fire Log

THURS, JULY 31st, 8:20 a.m. – City Island Ave. and Schfield St. Additional firefighting units were needed to contain a broken gas main on the street where the only firehouse is located on City Island. Additional fire apparatus responded to the island to help contain the incident.

SAT, AUG. 2nd, 11:30 a.m. – 2472 Grand Ave. A fire was reported in an apartment house north of West Fordham Rd. Ladder crews located the blaze on the 5th floor of the six-story high dwelling. Within minutes Battalion 19 ordered two hose lines to be deployed into the structure.  Division 7 reported the fire being contained within ten minutes.

TUES, AUG. 5th, 9:50 a.m. – 880 Colgate Ave. A fire was reported in a high-rise apartment house in the Sound View community. Engine 96 and Ladder 54 located the blaze on the 6th floor of the 20-story high structure. As additional fire companies arrived, there were assigned various task to assist with combating the blaze, besides ventilation, and rescue operations.
