New senior VP named at Montefiore Medical Center

Richard T. Celiberti has been appointed senior vice president, Network Development at Montefiore Medical Center. In this position, he will have overall responsibility for strengthening the Monte-fiore network through strategic partnerships with other healthcare providers in the region.

Celiberti, 62, most recently served as president and chief executive officer of Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center (OLM). On July 23, Montefiore acquired the assets of OLM and the facility is now known as the North Division of Montefiore Medical Center.

Celiberti is an accomplished healthcare executive whose background includes extensive consult-ing and operational experience. Prior to joining OLM in 2004, he was vice president for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he led the successful turnaround for three New York City community teaching hospitals and directed efforts to improve operations, enhance quality and reduce costs for the firm’s most prestigious healthcare clients. Celiberti also served as the acting chief operating officer for Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. Prior to joining Cap Gemini, he was a partner in the firm of Ernst & Young, where he was the national director of the nation’s largest and most profitable healthcare consulting practice.

A Certified Public Accountant and veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as the chief financial officer of a 500-bed military hospital, Celiberti received his MBA in Finance from Temple University and a BS in Accounting from New York University.
