Alumni of Mind-Builder Creative Arts Center are holding a fundraiser and reunion in order to help sustain this community icon. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, at 5 p.m. at Mind-Builders, 3415 Olinville Avenue, near Gun Hill and Whites Plain roads.
This event will showcase the youth and adults of Mind-Builders who have been able to use Mind-Builders as a foundation for developing and enhancing their artistic ability in the areas of dance, theatre, and music for the past 30 years.
In addition, a host of activities are planned for the evening including an inspiring performance by and discussion with vocal coach guru Ankh Ra Amenhetep from MTV’s hit show series Making the Band.
During its 30 years of service, Mind-Builders has helped establish in the Bronx, one of the most progressive environments for inspiring, developing and showcasing artistic talent. Funds raised will be used to help strengthen management
infrastructure and capacity as well as provide specific project support for dance, music, folk culture and/or teen training and performance components.
