Klein’s Broadway trip a smash hit

Senator Jeff Klein’s Senior Appreciation Days at the Westchester Broadway Theatre were a huge hit. On September 4 and 5 Klein hosted a three-course luncheon and private viewing of the Broadway smash hit The Producers for 1000 seniors as part of his 14th annual Senior Appreciation Days. In addition, Klein provided a welcoming hour and resource fair in advance of the show.

Every year Klein sponsors a special outing for the senior residents of the 34th Senate District to thank them for their contributions to the community. Senator Klein personally administered the raffle by which seniors were selected, traveling the district to various senior centers, drawing hundreds of names from a list of over two thousand hopeful entrants.

“I wanted to offer my constituents a taste of one of the great recreational resources in our state, an institution which generations of New Yorkers have enjoyed: the Westchester Broadway Theatre. There are so many wonderful things to do in Bronx and Westchester counties that we don’t always have the time to get to in the normal course of our lives. My 14th Annual Senior Appreciation Days are a great way to do something special for a community of people for whom we can not do enough: our seniors,” Senator Klein.
