Jeff Klein announced a $25,000 grant he secured for the Westchester Italian Cultural Center (WICC) for free Italian cooking classes for residents of the 34th Senate District. The classes will be held in October, November, and December and will be offered to over 1,000 residents of Westchester and the Bronx.
“I am proud to sponsor these classes for all residents of the 34th Senate District to celebrate the culture and rich culinary traditions of Italy,” said Klein.
Klein was joined by Evelyn Rossetti, executive d of WICC; David Pope, president and CEO of the Generoso Pope Foundation; Chef Andrea Tiberi, and other WICC board members at the Generoso Pope Foundation in Tuckahoe, NY for the announcement.
“The Westchester Italian Cultural Center celebrates, promotes and presents the best of Italian culture,” said Roseetti. “The program, A Tavola, (At the Table), hands-on cooking demonstrations that will bring Italian cuisine to seniors and the community at-large has been made possible by the generous support of Senator Klein. As executive director of the Westchester Italian Cultural Center, I am extremely grateful to Senator Klein for enabling us to bring the best of Italian cuisine to the community.”

The first two dates for the classes are October 10 and 11, and each day will feature five classes: 9:30, 11 a.m., 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. Each class will feature hands-on instruction from Chef Andrea Tiberi, a take-home recipe, and the opportunity to eat what you make.
