9-24, 6:00 a.m. – 779 Elton Ave. Authorities are looking into the death of a 52 year old Hispanic man. The man was found lying dead but there were cuts on the man’s face. With the help of the Medical Examiner’s staff, local detectives are hoping to learn if there was any foul play connected to the man’s death.
9-25, 6:40 p.m. – 700 Morris Ave. Armed with a search warrant police investigators raided an apartment in a Housing Authority complex. The officers left the home removing four weapons including a rifle, a Mac-10, besides a 9-mm Ruger, & a 25-caliber pistol. Taken into custody was 28 year old Angel Rodriguez.
9-28, 1:20 a.m. – 315 East 143 St. Police are looking for the culprit who shot a black male four times on the third floor of the Patterson Housing Development. Three of the bullets entered the man’s back while one bullet penetrated the victim’s chest. Unfortunately the young man expired according to officials at Lincoln Medical Center.

9-26, 12:40 a.m. – 1000 Simpson St. Detectives were not too far away from where four males were shot. The four victims were taken to an area hospital after being shot in the leg. They were all reported to be in stable condition.
42nd PCT.
9-24, 2:40 p.m. – East 170 St. & Franklin Ave. A 20 year old black male was treated at Lincoln Medical Center. The man had been shot in the ankle according to officials. Detectives are conducting an investigation.
9-27, 4:20 p.m. – 1575 Vyse Ave. Authorities are looking into a home invasion. The occupant was secured at gunpoint by the culprits, officials indicated. The culprit left with an unknown amount of property.
9-29, 2:35 a.m. – 1690 Vyse Ave. A police officer fired a shot that resulted with the arrest of a suspect & the recovery of a 38-caliber pistol. No injuries were reported.
9-29, 6:55 p.m. – 547 East 168 St. The male victim of a shooting was reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital officials indicated. Meanwhile local detectives are conducting the inquiry with assistance of patrol officers.
43rd PCT.
9-28, 2:15 a.m. – Sound View Ave. & Story Ave. The staff at Jacobi Medical Center treated a 20 year old black male. The young man was suffering from a bullet wound to the buttocks. His conduction was reported as stable.
9-28, 3:35 a.m. – 1150 Elder Ave. Officials are looking into a triple shooting that claimed one man’s life. The male who expired was shot in the chest, while the other two male victims were suffering bullet wounds to the buttocks. The emergency room staff at Jacobi Medical Center treated the two men.
44th PCT.
9-24, 10:25 p.m. – College Ave. & East 166 St. A 20 year old black male stopped a passing ambulance seeking assistance from the crew at St. Ann’s Ave. & East 156 St. The emergency medical technicians provided advanced first aid & then transported the young man to Lincoln Medical Center where the emergency room staff treated the man for a bullet wound to the hand. Police were summoned to the facility to start their inquiry.
45th PCT.
9-26, 6:15 a.m. – Bruckner Expwy. & Cross Bronx Expwy. An off duty police enroute to work was involved in a vehicle accident. The unidentified Manhattan officer was enroute to drop off two children including a six-months old baby when the accident occurred. The vehicle struck a wall according to officials. All the occupants were transported to Einstein Hospital for medical examinations.
9-28, 3:25 a.m. – 3163 Baisley Ave. Authorities are looking into an incident where shots had been fired. Responding officers recovered two shell casings. This indicated to officials that at lease two bullets had been fired. No injuries were reported.
9-30, 9:55 a.m. – Rodman’s Neck. An NYPD detective was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center after being struck by a bullet that was accidentally discharged. Struck was Detective Charlie Enright, who is assigned to NYS Governor David Patterson’s security detail. Enright was rushed to Jacobi where it was determined that the entered the buttocks & exiting from the groin area, afterward he was reported in stable condition.

9-24, 1:40 p.m. – 2356 Grand Concourse. A search was conducted for two Hispanic males who were responsible for a home invasion. The pair forced their way into a home that was occupied by a 44 year old Hispanic woman. She was punched in the face & held a knifepoint. The pair ransacked the home looking for valuables. The woman received medical assistance at St. Barnabas Hospital.
9-25, 8:55 a.m. – 25 West Tremont Ave. Two black males might be enjoying life for a while after netting twenty-five thousand dollars in a recent robbery, but detectives are looking for them. One of the men was dressed in a Fed-Ex uniform victims informed investigators. A gun was displayed during the robbery the sleuths were told but medical attention was provided for minor injuries to a victim.
9-26, 7:35 a.m. – 1785 Webster Ave. Authorities are looking to nab the three males who committed a robbery. The trio robbed a store at gunpoint fleeing with six thousand dollars. No injuries were reported.
9-27, 7:40 a.m. – East 183 St. & Jerome Ave. A search was conducted for the culprit who slashed two persons at a Latino restaurant. The two victims were quickly treated by ambulance personnel since there is an EMS station right there at the intersection. The attack is the results of a dispute officials learned.
47th PCT.
9-26, 4:25 p.m. – Barnes Ave. & East 219 St. Police officers checked area hospitals to see if an persons were shot. Arriving at the scene where shots had been fired, authorities recovered evidence indicating that indeed, shots had bee fired. No injuries were found at the scene but officials wanted to make sure that there were no victims, so all the local hospitals were checked.
9-26, 10:00 p.m. – 3905 Carpenter Ave. Manhattan sleuths nabbed a suspect wanted for a shooting in Lower Manhattan. A 38 year old Hispanic man was arrested & transported to the 7th Pct station house on Pitt St. for additional questioning & processing.
9-27, 8:30 a.m. – 3445 Boston Rd. The break-in of a check cashing store got a lot of attention from police officials. Once notified of the incident local police officers summoned detectives & the Evidence Collection Team to the scene. Local sleuths are working with investigators from the robbery squad in an attempt to nab the responsible culprits. Officials indicated that five thousand dollars worth of New York State Lottery tickets were reported taken.
9-27, 7:25 p.m. – 730 East 229 St. A 31 year old Oriental delivery man was shot in the head. The Asian deliveryman was delivering a $22 Chinese food order when he was shot. The culprit failed to take nearly three hundred dollars that Fengwang Chew had in his pocket. The culprit fled before police were notified.
9-30, 12:20 a.m. – 771 East 226 St. Two males were arrested after three weapons were confiscated by police officers. Taken off local streets were a 22 caliber gun, a 9-mm pistol, & a 40-caliber handgun. Arrested were a 27 year old black male & a 19 year old black male.
50th PCT.
9-24, 10:55 p.m. – Sedgwick Ave. & Dickinson Ave. A 20 year old man was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital after being attacked. The man was suffering from three stab wounds according to authorities. Detectives are conducting an inquiry. The victim was reported to be stable condition.
52nd PCT.
9-27, 10:05 a.m. – 18 West Fordham Rd. A darling gunpoint robbery netted the culprit only a thousand dollars officials reported. Additional police officers were re-deployed into to University Heights community after the thief fled hoping that they would be able to capture the thief. Detectives now have that task as part of the follow-up inquiry along with agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the investigation continues.
9-29, 12:25 p.m. – Police are looking for a black male who sexually attacked a 22 year old Latino woman. The unidentified man fled before police were notified of the attack. Detectives have been assigned to conduct an inquiry.
9-29, 2:55 p.m. – 2679 Decatur Ave. Authorities are looking into the death of a 60 year old Latino man. The man’s body was discovered with a note nearby besides a cut that apparently contained rat poison. The body was released to the Medical Examiner’s Office so that an autopsy could be performed.
9-29, 8:55 p.m. – 3548 Tryon Ave. A search was conducted for the culprits who forced their way into a home. They followed one of the occupants into the home. Once inside they tied the victim’s hands behind their backs before the four culprits attacked a male occupant. They were looking for money according to the victims, but the culprits fled with a cell phone.
9-29, 10:45 p.m. – Authorities conducted a search for a man who sexually attacked & assaulted a 19 year old Latino female. The male culprit held the young woman against her will while forcing her to perform sexual acts. The victim was provided with medical care at North Central Bronx Hospital as law enforcement officers search for the attacker.
9-30, 11:45 a.m. – 272 East Gun Hill Rd. Additional police officers were deployed into the northern section of the Norwood community. A 23 year old Hispanic woman was rushed to the trauma center at St. Barnabas Hospital where the medical staff treated her for stab wounds to the upper torso, neck, & head. A search was conducted for her attacker, who is believed to be the victim’s husband, 24 year old Ernest Arellano.
Housing
9-28, 3:10 a.m. – 271 East 143 St. Police officers from Housing’s PSA # 7 were summoned to the city building. They were lead to the body of a man who apparently died from natural causes officials report. Detectives from the 40th Pct. were alerted to the death.
Fire Log
9-26, 5:00 p.m. – Clarence & Layton Aves. The sound of sirens from passing fire apparatus grabbed the attention of neighbors heading home from a day’s work in the Throggs Neck section. One after the other raced toward a burning dwelling only a few blocks from Eastchester Bay. Heavy fire was reported by arriving units so the request was made for additional help. The flames were on the first floor but extending up to the second floor in the 2 ½ story dwelling. An urgent request was made for Con Edison as hose lines were being placed into operation. Finally, some 30 minutes went by before the incident was declared under control.
9-28, 1:40 p.m. – Boston Rd. & Conner St. Traffic was detoured away from the busy intersection as firefighters from over a half dozen fire units battled a fire at a construction site. The conflagration was inside trailers that were in a garage. Three hose lines were deployed to help control the flames. The fire was declared under control shortly after 2 p.m.
9-28, 3:35 p.m. – West Burnside Ave. & Grand Ave. A fire was reported in an apartment house. Units quickly arrived at the five story dwelling to find the blaze on the third floor. Two hose lines were deployed to attack the spreading flames. Within minutes the flames were darken down. No serious injuries were reported.
