Japanese art at Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Gardes will be unveiling an eclectic work of eastern art as part of Kiku: The Art of the Japanese Chrysanthemum. The exhibition and flower show, which opened on Saturday, October 18, also includes an authentic Japanese garden with a pond, bonsai trees, and Japanese Chrysanthemum. The flagship exhibit is the bamboo sculpture designed by Tetsunori Kawana, whose works have been seen in Japan, Russia, Italy, and the U.S.

Tetsunori Kawana, with the help of volunteers and his team steadily put together the massive bamboo sculpture. It is going to be “cloud coverings in a bamboo forest.”
