Girls’ basketball round-up

Starasia Lawley recorded a double-double, but it certainly wasn’t of the pedestrian variety. The sophomore poured in 25 points, grabbed 25 rebounds and dished out five assists for August Martin in a 48-38 victory over James Madison Friday in Brooklyn/Queens AA girls’ basketball crossover. Latoya Griffith had six points and seven rebounds and Krystina Agard added seven rebounds and five assists to go along with four points for August Martin. James Madison is 0-3.

Lincoln 59, Beach Channel 36: Tanisha Montague scored 20 points and Leteisha Joseph added 13 for Lincoln (2-1). Tyana Hale had 13 points and six assists. Beach Channel is 0-2.

Murry Bergtraum 74,Dewitt Clinton 43: Doris Ortega dropped in 17 points, grabbed four rebounds and had three assists for Murry Bergtraum (2-0) in Manhattan AA. Shanee Williams added eight points and Janelle Linton had six rebounds. Clinton is 0-2.

CLASS A

Medgar Evers 71, Brooklyn Tech 38: Jaide Lewis scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Medgar Evers (3-0), which pulled away after a 23-9 third quarter in Brooklyn A. Jasmin Robinson had 19 points and six assists and Ashley Castle added 13 points and seven assists. Brooklyn Tech is 3-1.

Fort Hamilton 64, East NY Family: 41: Samantha Mansour dropped in 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Fort Hamilton (4-0), which outscored East New York Family 23-9 in the third. Carla Baena had 13 points and 10 rebounds. East NY Family is 0-4.

CLASS B

East Side 63, Collaborative Education 29: Sonia Andrades scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for East Side (2-0), which led 20-0 after the first quarter, in Manhattan B South. Suzzette Garnett had 13 points and 10 boards and Melanie Bonilla added 13 points. Collaborative Education is 0-1.
