Perfect setting for the perfect Yule time tree

When Anthony’s Flower Farm moved to the former site of the 99-year-old Meskers Flowers at 3240 E. Tremont Avenue two years ago, its owner vowed to turn the large open space behind the building into a vibrant part of the business during the holidays.

Anthony Mancini, owner of Anthony’s Flower Farm and the former proprietor of Flowers By Anthony located on Westchester Avenue between Continental and St. Paul avenues for 15 years, has certainly kept himself and his staff busy this holiday season, turning the store into a winter wonderland.

A Christmas Tree Farm was set up to delight those looking for either nice scenery for a family holiday photo, or more importantly, to take home a beautiful evergreen tree that will serve as the family’s Yule tree for this year.

“A lot of families come here together as a group to stand next to the hundreds of Christmas Trees and take a group photo for their yearly Christmas card,” Anthony said. “This will definitely become a yearly tradition, just like our pumpkin patch during Halloween is here to stay.”

Anthony said that unlike Christmas tree lots that pop up on different street corners throughout the borough, the trees he sells for $28 and up are the highest quality evergreens available, set on a large piece of property that even offers views of the far-off Manhattan skyline.
