Organ showcase

Showcasing one of the oldest working organs in the country, Dr. Jan Piett Knijff performs classical music and holiday favorites, in a special concert, at St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, in Mt. Vernon, NY, on Sun., December 21, at 2 pm. Dr. Knijff, the St. Paul’s concert organist in residence, will be accompanied by soprano in the recital on the 1833 Erben pipe organ. At 1 pm, storyteller and author Stephanie Mita shares seasonal tales and legends. Admission is free and refreshments are provided.

Start your holiday week on Sat., Dec. 20 at 1 pm when the Bronx Arts Ensemble presents “Hey…You’re in My Light! A Holiday Musical Misadventure for the Whole Family” at Vladeck Hall in the Amalgamated Houses, corner of Hillman Avenue and Van Cortlandt Park South.

A company of actors comes to town to put on a special holiday show. Sounds wonderful. Only problem is: These actors can’t stand each other! Can four grown actors do a show together without driving each other crazy? Written by Dante Albertie. Performed by the Children’s Theatre Company at Lehman and the Bronx Arts Ensemble. The Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture will host a WinterFest Celebration on Sun., Dec. 221, at 11 am at the Meeting House at 4450 Fieldston Road, corner of Manhattan College Parkway.

The group will celebrate the end of the secular year. The festivities will begin at 11 am. There will be music, songs and celebration.
