Archbishop Stepinac inducts 19 into St. Thomas More Chapter of NHS

Archbishop Stepinac High School recently inducted 19 of its students into the St. Thomas More Chapter of the National Honor Society at a special candlelight ceremony.

The goals of the society are four-fold: to create an enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character.

“We want to extend our sincere congratulations to these extraordinary young men who have excelled not only academically, but in personal and religious accomplishments as well,” said Paul Carty, principal. “We are proud to induct so many of our students into this prestigious organization.”

The 2008 National Honor Society inductees include: Joseph Cleary, Sean Doherty, John Masciandaro, Charles Davidson, Frank Kopicki, Daniel Spies, Joseph Barbalaco, Douglas Daniels, Thomas Decker, Shaun Hanlon, Brogan Lapp, Jackson Markey, Richard Torres, Andrew Aurellano, Nicholas Forlini, John Golebiowski, Daniel Rock, and Mykhailo Tserkovnyuk.

“These new members of the society will be challenged to follow in the footsteps of St. Thomas More to become men of courage, faith, integrity and honor,” added Carty.
