Opening day of the new Yankee Stadium is only weeks away. Work crews are putting the finishing touch on every inch of the ballpark in anticipation of two pre-season exhibition games. In photo left, the tent area protects the recently applied logo from the elements.
The new Yankee Stadium has a capacity of just over 52,000 spectators. The opening of the stadium is planed for April 3, when the Yankees will host one of two exhibition games against the Chicago Cubs. The first regular season game at the new hometown park is scheduled for April 16, when the Yankees will take on the Cleveland Indians.
