TN Extended Care celebrates 100th birthdays

The atmosphere was full of excitement with fun music, vibrant decorations, and delicious goodies for residents at Throgs Neck Extended Care who gathered to celebrate the 100th birthday milestone.

The party, held on Thursday, March 26 at 707 Throgs Neck Expressway, was in honor multiple birthdays in the month of March.

“Its so special for people to reach this age, it’s definitely not an everyday thing,” said activity director Liliana Martusevici.

On Sunday, March 29, Florence Focareli turned 100, attributing her long life to God and hard work.

“She’s an unbelievable women, who worked practically her whole life,” said her niece, Toni Zinzi. “The staff here does so much for them and did such a wonderful job today. This whole group [of residents] is amazing.”

Sadie DeMucci passed the 100 mark on Tuesday, March 24, when she turned 101.

“Things couldn’t be better, the party is really beautiful,” DeMucci remarked as she was enjoying the celebration.

Throughout the festivities guests sang and danced along with all their favorite songs and requests performed by Lee Perry Gross, musical entertainer.

Also honored were Victoria Condurso, who turned 100 in November, and Teresa Brocolli, who turned 102 in August, along with 25 other birthdays in March for younger residents under 100 years old.
