Albania-Serb peace discussed on BronxNet

Increasing peace between Albanians and Serbians and promoting democracy in the region are some of the issues Albanian journalist Baki Redzepi emphasized during his stop at BronxNet and his appearance on the BronxNet program “Open,” as part of his official visit to the United States. Redzepi, editor-in-chief of TV Spektri of Bujanovac, Serbia came to the U.S. as a guest of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, to gain insight into investigative broadcast journalism and media practices in the U.S., and to learn about U.S. electronic media and broadcasting to diverse audiences.

BronxNet executive director Michael Max Knobbe and staff were joined by Bronx resident and public access producer Adem Hasanbelliu to speak to Redzepi about BronxNet, the Bronx community, and community television in the United States.

“This is the beginning of a cultural exchange. We are honored to have Mr. Redzepi of TV Spektri in our studios to share insights and news about Bujanovac and people who are working through challenges,” said Knobbe.
