BCC Hall of Fame Run an all-day tradition

On the morning of Saturday, May 2, runners and walkers took to the streets near Bronx Community College at 2155 University Avenue to raise money and awareness for one of the borough’s most important focal points of higher education.

The race, which has become an annual tradition and one of the college’s most looked-forward-to events, included five- and ten-kilometer courses, as well as a 2K-fitness walk.

Hundreds of participants began the race at 10 a.m., and the festivities lasted for several hours.

Coming in first place in the 10K-run among men was Robert Puente, who ran the course in 34 minutes and 42 seconds. Coming in second was Gabriel Igancio, 35 minutes and 19 seconds. Joseph Tacuri came in third among men finishing in 36 minutes and 31 seconds.

Among the women, the top runner in the 10k was Una Broderick, 40 minutes and 21 seconds; second was Carolina Cruz at 43 minutes and 3 second; third place finisher for women was Chanda Mohan, 46 minutes and 12 seconds.

Among BCC students the top male runner was William Pineiro, who ran the course in 47 minutes and 25 seconds. The top female student runner was Chanda Mohan.

The top BCC alumni runners were Victor, 57:54; Enmanuez Luna, 58:52; and third, Harrison Charite at 1:08:55.

In the 5K race, the top three runners among men were Michael Basen at 18:03, Marius Kwint at 18:10, and Irfan Anwae at 18:48.

For the 5K race among women, the top three were Sarah Pinkowski at 22:04, Lilia Britez at 22:35, and Jodey Johnson at 23:28.
