St. Theresa graduation marks 50th anniversary of first

The 8th Grade Class at St. Theresa School has enjoyed several celebrations of their graduation, the 50th anniversary of St. Theresa’s first graduating class. There was a special Mass on Sunday, June 7, celebrated by Father Grippo, pastor of the parish; there was an 8th grade prom dance at Maestro’s Caterers on Wednesday, June 10; and, finally, the 8th graders graduated at the ceremony for them on Friday, June 12.

Graduate Michelle Mack presented the Salutatorian Address followed by principal Josephine Fanelli, Father Grippo and 8th grade teacher Melissa Lopez conferring the diplomas and awards to the class.

In addition to many scholarships and monetary awards to the graduates, the following academic awards were presented: Religion: Michelle Mack; English: Michelle Mack; Reading: Samantha Rivera; Mathematics: John Canaras; Social Studies: Benjamin Barriage; Science: Ashley Maymi; Italian: Vincenza Lucciola; Computers: Evanni Contreras; Art: Evania Torres; and Gym (boy/girl): Chrystian Lopez and Joanna Albanese.
