A City Island man is accused of threatening a neighbor, and then firing a shotgun into a wall in his own home, causing a hole the size of a baseball, police said.
On Friday, September 11, at approximately 9:12 p.m., police responded to the Bay Street home of Peter Ross, age 54. It is alleged that Ross threatened to shoot his neighbor if he did not leave the house, pointed the gun at a wall, and then fired into the wall inside his house.
While the neighbor was not shot and the cause of the dispute remains unclear, when police searched the house at 103 Bay Street, they allegedly found a 26-inch shotgun, a 35-caliber rifle, 55 12-guage-shotgun shells, and five 35-caliber rifle rounds.
Weapons were hidden underneath his Ross’s bed and in his closest.
Ross has been charged with a felony, criminal possession of a weapon, as well as several misdemeanors: reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of rifles.
Ross pled not guilty, and posted $2,500 bail.
