Santa taken to the cleaners

The Samuel Young American Legion Post 620 had a very jolly Santa Claus this season thanks to American Cleaners and Tailors on 3727 E. Tremont Avenue.

This year 620 hosted two Christmas celebrations, one for children on Saturday, December 13, and one at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, located 130 W. Kingsbridge Road.

“I think all children need a Santa Claus and that he should have a clean Santa suit on,” said Vincent Zeppieri, owner of American Cleaners the past 5 years, following his father who owned the location 40 years.

During the children’s party, open to anyone in the post, Santa gave kids up to 10 years of age appropriate gifts, pizza, candy, and a chance to hang out with Santa himself.

“It was good to have the suit cleaned and the nice part was the guy didn’t charge us because we are the American Legion Post, a veteran organization that helps veterans,” said Paul Golluscio.
