Bronx Concert Singers plan rehearsals

Rehearsals have begun for the Bronx Concert Singers’ holiday concert, An English Christmas. BCS will host Community Open Rehearsals, two great opportunities to hear excerpts from the upcoming program and to participate in the arts, on the following Tuesday evenings; Oct. 13 and 20, from 7:30 to 10 pm at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1891 McGraw Avenue. All are welcome to this free event and refreshments will be served. For more information call (917) 743-4641.

At open rehearsal guest singers will experience first hand the fun and challenge of preparing the music for this upcoming holiday program, which includes works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten and excerpts from Handel’s Messiah. BCS will provide scores. Visitors who prefer not to sing can just relax and enjoy an evening of wonderful music. For those interested in performing with the chorus this season, BCS seeks singers with note-reading and sight-singing skills, but beginners who learn music quickly and are willing to work hard are always welcome.
