Salesian bowlers roll

The 2009 Salesian High School Bowling Team is on a mission to get back to the playoffs. And to redeem themselves for a semi-final defeat to Xaverian in last season’s City Championship round.

Led by senior captain Kevin Foy and the solid bowling of senior John Celzo, Salesian defeated St. Raymond’s on Tuesday, October 6 and Stepinac on Wednesday, October 7, 5-0. Celzo rolled his first game over 200 in his short bowling career, shooting 211 then 193. The Salesian Eagles enter the fifth week of the season undefeated.

Salesian’s JV team is full of new faces. In the first four weeks, the Salesian JV’s storyline has been freshmen lefty, Ashton Maxwell, who put on quite a show in the second game against Stepinac.

Maxwell finished with 235, leading both the JV and Varsity for the week. Salesian also received a big game from freshmen Anthony Maraia, who shot 209.
