Shining light on domestic violence

The Hutchinson Metro Center, a Class A office complex in the Bronx, is joining the statewide effort to “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence” by illuminating its main building in purple lights throughout the month of October.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in New York State and landmarks throughout the state including Niagara Falls are being illuminated in purple. Purple is a symbol of courage, survival, honor, and has come to symbolize the fight to end domestic violence.

Located directly off the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx, the Hutchinson Metro Center is one of the most highly visible office buildings in the borough with more than 150,000 cars passing by the complex each weekday.

“We are proud to support this statewide campaign to bring greater awareness to the fight to end domestic violence. We hope everyone who sees our beautifully illuminated building at night will join in this very worthwhile effort,” said Joseph Kelleher, president and chief operating officer of Hutch Management LLC, which oversees leasing and management of the Hutchinson Metro Center.

“The Hutchinson Metro Center is the Headquarters for the New Bronx Chamber of Commerce and we are proud to work with the developers of the complex creating awareness of this worthy cause to the businesses and community of the Bronx,” said Lenny Caro, president of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce.
