AFC Rapid Soccer highlights for Week VIII

The ghosts and goblins were trick or treating on Cintron Field this weekend with a full schedule played. The highlights are follows:

Ann Clair Catering & Advance Solutions shared the “solution” playing to a 3-3 tie. Picking the for Ann Clair’s were Danny Carillo (2) and Alexis Bhoullo (1). The rest of the team held the tie.

It was a “Mc” Sunday, McNulty’s F.H. defeated McDonald’s, 2-1 a tough match. The scoring for McNulty came from Brian Kimmel and Nicky Kola, on a corner kick. The midfield was controlled by Allie Walsh and Kaitlyn Brandstetter. The “D” was held by Aiden Kimmel and tender, Caitlin Brown, with a great save. The “Magnificent Seven” of McDonald’s were led by Veronica O’Brian, with the lone goal. Other strong performances from Matthew Kahn, Jessica Piazza, Bryanna Morales, Zachary Smith and Kevin Peters.

The medical staff at Westchester-Bronx OB/GYN played Bronx City Recycling to a 2-2 tie. The goals for West-Bx were scored by Maryellen Doino and Anna Savino, with assists from Nora Meany and Gina Saverino. The midfielders were Lisa Popovich and Chrustina Todino. Defensive standouts were Danielle Acceto, Samantha Bruno and Kristen Parisi.

Some heavy lifting was performed in the workout by Soma Health Club defeating American A-1 Auto Service, 3-0. The scoring was shared equally by Aidin Pelinkovic, Albert Rugova and Sidorela Zefi. The halfback line of Aine Sheehan, Emily Castro and Vincent Jones pushed the “O”. The defensive wall was supplied by Christopher Wells and Jordan Fair.

Edgewater AA “washed away” Franchise Contractors, 3-1. Frolicking at the shore were Andres Soto, Ilirian Gjata and Lauren Schnepf with a goal each. Other standout performances from Keyla Grill, Keith Lancaster and Brandon Gray, with five saves.

The contractors from C. I Contractong Corp. ate well at International Caterers, 5-0. The scoring was shared by Michael Kroner (2), Dino Esposito (1), Ashley Pacheco (1) and Daniella Zirpolo (1), four players had assists on the five goal attack Leo Kibler, Emily Herrera, Angelina Sanabria and Jonathan Neill. The star defender was Justin Ortiz and serving double duty in the net was Angelina Sanabria.

In a weekend filled with ties, Locust Point Yacht Club rubbed B & A Plumbing, 3-3. Scoring for the yachtsmen came from Mike Janny (2) and Carlos Mercado (1). The swabbies were Brandon Gray, John Candras, Kevin Kelleher and Michael Catherall.

L.D. Management “out managed” P. Wynne, Attorney, 2-1. Both goals were scored Melissa Apicella with Mohammed Arifov having one assist. Other offensive standouts were Nico Nonis, Joseph Delgrosso and Monica Popovic. The wall was formed by Erim Pelinkovic, Majella Sheehan, Emily and Matthew Nugent.

Capital Shield shutout Pro Active Physical Therapy, 5-0. Hanah Rigoglioso (2), Jennifer Natale (1), Ricky Rivera (1) and Rena Beban (1). Assists on these scores were supplied by Daniela Spinola, Rebeccaerini and Isabelle Ayala. Great play from Andrew Bulla and the goalie tandem of Justin DiUbaldo and Patrick Conolly.
