Zodiacs compete in 2 track meets

Zodiacs competed in two track meets last weekend, the New York Road Runners, Young Runners 1.5 mile Race and Halls Express Cross Country Relays Race,

In the New York Road Runners Young Runners meet, which had over 472 participants, Zodiacs athletes was among the best. In the Girls 1.5 mile run, which had 195 participants ages 6 to 17, Zodiacs Beverly Seignious took first and Aaliyah Wajid who’s only 12 years old took second over all and first in their age group. Beverly who is a freshman at Truman High, ran in the PSAL Varsity XC Championship and qualified to compete in the New York State XC Championship as a freshman, great accomplishment. Eight year old Giovanna Tolbert took 15th over all and first in her age group with teammate Tiffany Dawson taking 31st overall and second in her age group. Seven years old Joshlyn Fleiscett took 39th over all and 1st in her age group with teammate QueenAsia Thompkins taking 44th overall and second in the 7 years old age group. In the boys 1.5 mile run there were 277 participants age 6 to 17. Hugh Fraser took 10th overall and first in his age group. Team mate Shem Spencer took 32nd overall and first in the 11 year old age group. Elijah Harewood took 52nd overall, but first in the 9 years old age group. We have many more who performed well. In the Hall’s Express XC Relay, Zodiacs Sub-Bantam Girls team won the gold and our Midget Boys age group took silver.

The Zodiacs are ready for the AAU National Cross Country Championship in Walt Disney Wide World of Sports on December 5.
