Sack A Suds II is now open for business filling the void for a convenient and clean laundromat for the residents of Crosby Avenue.
The new and bright green and yellow awning cannot help but pull the interest of community residents who have been awaiting a new laundromat opening for the location where Gentle Cycle once was found.
The new laundromat is the second location owned by native Bronxite, Joe Mazzilli, with the first successfully running over three years at 1062 Morris Park Avenue, proving through the years their exceptional quality and service.
Sack A Suds II opened on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 to the joy of many, but especially the seniors in the area that have had no locations to service their needs within a reasonable distance.
The grand opening celebration was held on Monday, February 2, and offered all new and old customers free soap as long as supplies lasted throughout the week.
Along with the friendly staff, who remained employed from the prior laundromat after it shut down due to a tragic death, the location contains top quality washers and driers to keep customers clothes clean and in good condition.
“We have top of the line machines, with 15 washers and 16 driers, to accommodate a large number of customers. We are a local friendly neighborhood laundromat,” said Mazzilli, who added the location guarantees same day drop off service. “I’ve lived in this neighborhood my whole life, and when we opened people were so glad, they kept coming in to say thank you, they were so happy.”
Residents such as Donna Amato, that were customers of Gentle Cycle seemed relieved they have this service close to home once again.
“I like this laundromat and I like the people who work here,” said Amato. “It’s clean and they have very good service.”
Operation hours are Monday thru Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. For more information call (347) 293-6780.
