40th PCT.

1-30, 7:20 p.m. – East 149 St. & Bruckner Blvd. The victim of a car-jacking was injuries authorities reported. The unidentified culprit fled with the victim’s vehicle after the victim was assaulted. Detectives are continuing with the follow up inquiry.

1-31, 12:30 a.m. – St. Ann’s Ave. & East 137 St. A 16 year old boy could be heading to jail. The teen was nabbed while in possession of a 32-caliber pistol. The weapon was vouched for future use during the trail.

2-2, 3:15 a.m. – 522 East 138 St. The staff at Lincoln Medical Center’s emergency room treated a 47 year old male. The black man was suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen when he arrived at the facility. Detectives are looking into the incident.

41st PCT.

1-27, 7:10 p.m. – 915 Bruckner Blvd. Police nabbed a culprit who was in possession of an unregistered handgun. Recovered & vouched by police was a 44-Magnum Ruger pistol.

1-31, 11:00 p.m. – Hunts Point Ave. & Garrison Ave. Police were called to Montifiore Hospital after a person appeared there seeking medical assistance. It was learned from the male victim that he had been shot in the foot by an unidentified person. Detectives will now handle the follow-up inquiry.

42nd PCT.

1-31, 12:20 a.m. – 1015 East 172 St. An investigation was launched when authorities learned of a drug farm. Officers were lead to an apparent marijuana plants that were being ground in a vacant building. The plants were removed from the structure, as an inquiry was started.

1-31, 8:10 p.m. – 1133 Boston Rd. The staff at Lincoln Medical Center treated a male who had been shot. The victim was suffering from a bullet wound to the left leg when arriving at the hospital. Police interview possible witnesses & looked for evidence.

43rd PCT.

1-28, 7:50 p.m. – 1060 Wheeler Ave. Police patrol officers were alerted that three Hispanic males forced their way into a 2nd floor home. Once inside the home, the trio forced the occupant into the bathroom as they searched the apartment. The victim feeling threatened, jumped from the bathroom window suffering a broken pelvis. It was not immediately known what was taken from the home.

1-29, 5:50 a.m. – 2040 Gleason Ave. An undercover police officer nabbed a suspect who was in possession of an unregistered 25-caliber automatic pistol.

2-1, 3:00 a.m. – 1064 Ward Ave. Police conducted a search for a missing 12 year old boy. Area trains stations, parks, & surrounding building were checked as additional police officer were being deployed into the area to help with the search. Police continued searching the area & the boy was found at 10:25 a.m.

2-2, 5:55 a.m. – 1338 Metcalf Ave. Authorities are looking into the death of a 68 year old black male. The man apparently jumped from the 2nd floor of the building. He was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he expired after 6 a.m.

44th PCT.

1-27, 10:57 p.m. – East 161 St. & Walton Ave. A local patrol officer recovered an unregistered hand gun. Vouched was a Beretta pistol.

1-29, 1:00 a.m. – 1278 Grand Concourse. A suspect was arrested as another weapon was taken off the Bronx streets. Police recovered & vouched a 380-caliber pistol.

1-31, 8:45 p.m. – College Ave. & East 168 St. Patrol officers removed another gun from the streets of the Morrisian community. This time recovered was a 357-caliber revolver.

2-3, 9:00 a.m. – 1037 Ogden Ave. Another unregistered gun was recovered from Bronx streets. This time patrol officers arrested a suspect who was in possession of a 380-caliber pistol.

45th PCT.

1-30, 7:15 a.m. – 3226 Randall Ave. Authorities are looking into the death of a 16 year old male. Officials believe that the death might have been a suicide. The Medical Examiner’s office will assist in making that determination.

46th PCT.

1-31, 3:10 a.m. – 2240 Ryer Ave. A 31 year old Hispanic woman was halled off to jail. Police nabbed the woman while she was in possession of a 22-caliber pistol.

2-1, 12:15 a.m. – Jerome Ave. & Burnside Ave. Police were alerted that a male had been shot. Officers arriving at the scene found a 27 year old black male suffering from a bullet wound to the left arm. The man was admitted to St. Barnabas Hospital & was reported to be in critical condition. Detectives will conduct the inquiry.

47th PCT.

1-28, 1:30 p.m. – 3938 Mulvey Ave. An undercover police officer arrested a 53 year old man. The male culprit was charged illegal possession of several weapons after being found with four different handguns. Recovered by police & vouched were a 380-caliber semi-automatic pistol, a 357-caliber revolver, a 45 caliber pistol, & a 9-mm semi-automatic pistol. The culprit was identified as Lammy Henderson.

1-29, 10:30 a.m. – Wilson Ave. & Boston Rd. A search is underway for the person who assaulted a traffic agent. The city-worker was punched in the arm by a culprit who fled the scene.

2-2, 1:30 p.m. – 3775 White Plains Rd. A traffic agent was attacked as a summons was being issued. The culprit, described as a black male 55 years old was arrested by responding police officers. The traffic officer suffered a punched to the chest.

48th PCT.

2-1, 12:30 a.m. – 2407 Beaumont Ave. Police were alerted that a man had been shot numerous times. The unidentified victim was admitted to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. Local sleuths will conduct the inquiry.

2-1, 1:35 p.m. – 922 East Tremont Ave. A search was conducted for a middle aged Hispanic male. Victims believe that the male Latino is in his 50’s who robbed a store at gunpoint. An unknown amount of money was taken, but no injuries were reported.

2-3, 7:40 p.m. – 820 East 182 St. Authorities are looking for the culprit of a robbery. The thief robbed a gas station of $150 at gunpoint. No injuries were reported.

49th PCT.

1-28, 8:30 a.m. – Arnow Ave. & Colden Ave. Police officers were informed that a black-out occurred. Upon checking the neighborhood it was determined that only a block area was affected. Con Edison emergency crews were dispatched to the area & upon checking they apparently found faulty equipment & replaced a defective transformer. Within 90 minutes power was restored to the effective area.

1-29, 12:55 p.m. – 1845 Bogart Ave. A police officer required medical assistance at Jacobi Medical Center. The officer was injured in the line of duty suffering a broken elbow while investigating a burglary.

50th PCT.

1-28, 12:00 p.m. – 3995 Hillman Ave. Police were summoned after the body of a woman was discovered. Responding police officers requested the response of detectives to the scene. The woman’s body was found face-up on a bed. Authorities believe that the woman might have taken her own life. The Medical Examiner’s office will help to make that determination.

2-3, 8:10 p.m. – 131 West Kingsbridge Rd. Police are looking into a shooting that sent a 40 year old male to St. Barnabas Hospital. The man was diagnosed with a bullet wound to the upper leg. Detectives will follow up with an inquiry.

Housing

1-28, 5:20 p.m. – 965 Tinton Ave. Authorities are looking into an incident where a bullet was fired through the window of a city Housing Authority apartment. None of the occupants were injured, but Detectives from the 42nd Pct. Squad & Housing’s PSA # 7 are looking for the culprit.

1-28, 5:30 p.m. – 735 East 165 St. A 15 year old Hispanic boy was reported to be in critical condition at Lincoln Medical Center. The teen was taken to the hospital after being shot in the face as additional police officers were deployed into the area. Police officers from Housing’s PSA # 7 are working with investigators from the 42nd Pct. Squad.

1-28, 11:05 p.m. – A police officers from Housing’s PSA # 8 arrested a suspect who was in possession of an illegal gun. Taken off the street was another 38-caliber pistol.

1-29, 8:25 p.m. – 750 East 163 St. Authorities are looking into a weapon discharge. Responding police officers found evidence that at lease three bullets had been discharged. No injuries were reported.

2-3, 1:05 a.m. – 360 East 137 St. The body of a 32 year old male was discovered inside an apartment. Arriving police officers from Housing’s PSA # 7 arrived to find the Latino’s man body inside the bathroom. The body was released to the Medical Examiner’s office so that an autopsy could be performed. Detectives from the 40th Pct. will conduct the inquiry.

Fire Log

1-27, 12:55 p.m. – 3353 Olinville Ave. Fire units from a half-a-dozen stations responded to battle a fire south of East Gun Hill Rd. Two hose lines were quickly stretched to battle the fire in a two-story private home. Within minutes, the flames succumbed to the water that was being poured onto them. Two injuries persons including a firefighter were treated by ambulance crews from the Emergency Medical Service.

1-27, 10:25 p.m. – 1102 Jackson Ave. Five families were displaced by a fast spreading fire. The blaze apparently started in a three story wooden structure on the second floor. Before the flames were contained, five buildings were damaged. The fire went to three alarms forcing the smoke-eaters to use two tower ladders and four hose lines before it was declared under control by fire officials. All residents were accounted for as searches proved to be negative through out all the building. Eight persons were injured that also included six firefighters. Emergency units remained on the scene till all most 2 a.m. the following morning.

1-29, 4:56 p.m. – Williamsbridge Rd. & Arnow Ave. Ambulance crews were needed to treat the victims of a vehicle incident. Five ambulances were dispatched to assist the eight victims. Emergency Medical crews were on the scene for nearly two hours.

2-1, 9:40 p.m. – 3015 Edson Ave. Firefighters raced to a reported blaze in an occupied private home near Adee Ave. Arriving within minutes, a hose line was quickly stretched as ladder crews went about their assigned tasks. One person was injured & an ambulance was requested to respond to the fire scene. By 10:20 the first floor fire was declared under control.

2-2, 2:40 p.m. – 3036 Bailey Ave. With a firehouse nearby, a fire that quickly got out of control & spreading was cut off due to the effects of the first arriving units. The blaze was in an apartment on the 5th floor of a six story dwelling right near the home of Engine 81 & Tower Ladder 46. Under the command of Battalion 27 & the 7th Division the fire was placed under control by 3:20 p.m. with only one civilian reported being injured. A crew from the Emergency Medical Service treated and transported the victim.

2-2, 6:50 p.m. – 3472 Knox Pl. Firefighters searching a building for fire extension forced the doors leading to 20 apartments after finding numerous burning mattresses. Additional firefighting units were summoned to assist at the scene beyond the full first alarm assignment. Upon checking one of the apartments, the firefighters discovered a marijuana lab, police were left in charge of that apartment. Three firefighters were injured. It was indicated that this building was damaged by a fire during the previous month on Jan. 10th.

2-2, 7:23 p.m. – 1535 Jerome Ave. Flames were damaging a one story shed that was being used for commercial purposes near East 172 St. when firefighters arrived on the scene. Battalion 19 indicated that within minutes water was being applied to the fire, keeping it from spreading to nearby structures. One person was injured, & they were provided with medical care at the scene by the members of an ambulance crew from the Emergency Medical Services before being transported to a nearby medical facility.
