Pelham/Split Rock celebrates 3-yr. rehab

Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course has been completely restored and is now fully open for public use.

After over three years and $ 7 million in renovations to the public course, located 870 Shore Road, that opened its doors in 1901, the site is ready to accommodate any event or occasion.

The interior upgrade was intended to mirror the original structure, incorporating reconditioned marble and slate from the initial building, but adding a modern theme with black, red and gold design.

“It brings back that old-world feel and the estate look from the moment you walk through the door,” said Elizabeth Baker Pinapfel, general manager at Pelham and Split Rock Golf Course.

Unlike most other golf facilities, Pelham/Split Rock has two full sized 18-hole courses, as well as several rooms for special occasions, and the Saalburg Cafe restaurant, all open to the public.

Adding to the unique experience, the location only hosts one event at a time, whether it be corporate meeting, fundraiser, award dinner, premier, wedding, or any other occasion.

The New York City events staff will service all your needs in planning your gathering.

“New York City Events is here to hold your hand from start to finish and there is always someone here to assist you,” said Matthew Silver, regional director of catering.

The location offers several smaller rooms for more intimate occasions, an outdoor patio in nice weather, or the enclosed outdoor pavilion that invokes to 220 guests a ballroom feel with glass walls overlooking the course, while keeping them safe from any elements.

“The great thing about the pavilion is it is essentially a ballroom, with so much glass and white that is will reflect any color theme our guests should choose,” said Baker Pinapfel

A private dressing room is available, offering a comfortable preparation room to get ready for that special event, and though standard menus are available, the exclusive chef, Richard League, can customize to your specific tastes.

“We bring a Manhattan quality and service to our guests, adding a Neuvo-style cuisine in the Bronx,” said Silver. “We have some really unique food options that will add more to the event than the typical serving stations.”

For golfers, the location gives a county club feel at a public course, with a full golf pro shop for any players needs.
