Senior named NAS program finalist

Jerenee Charles, Class of 2009 at the Academy of Mount St. Ursula, has been named a Finalist in the 2009 National Achievement® Scholarship Program. She is one of over 1,600 Black American high school seniors who have been designated Finalists in the 45th annual Achievement Scholarship® competition.

“Jerenee has distinguished herself many times inside and outside the classroom. Academically, she consistently excels but many may not be aware of Jerenee’s keen creative ability. As an ITV member last year, she used her artistic vision to help her win an Eddy Award in the category of photo essay. Jerenee is a well-rounded and gifted student who exemplifies the Ursula spirit,” noted her ITV moderator Joan Sipe.

Jerenee has received scholarships to the following institutions: Chestnut Hill College, LeMoyne College and Wells College. She has not made a decision on which school she will attend in the fall.
