Forum of Italian American Educators Dinner

The Forum of Italian American Educators will hold its 26th Annual Awards Dinner Dance on Friday, April 16, at the Villa Barone Manor.

Daria Sclafani Rigney, District 2 Community Superintendent, and Michael Pizzingrillo, Archdiocese of Brooklyn Associate Superintendent of Schools, will be the recipients of the Thomas Giordano Leadership in Education Award.

The Michael Tomasetti Principal’s Award will be given to Christopher Eustace, principal, P.S. 105 and to Oriento Vitiello, principal, St. John’s School.

The Andy Galdi Special Education Award will be presented to Jane Syracuse, IEP coordinator, P.S. 142 and to Jayme Bollati, Special Education teacher, John Cardinal O’Connor School.

Christie Marrone, At Risk Facilitator, P.S. 83 and Carmela Marie Mascia, 4th grade teacher, St. Lucy’s School, will receive the Excellence-in-Teaching Award.

The Philip J. Abinanti Community Service Award will be given to Dana Carotenuto, Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Jeff Klein.

The FIAME Service Award will be presented to Elaine Mercante, payroll secretary, P.S. 68.

Dr. Tom and Dr. Lyn Scheuring of Lamp Ministries will receive the FIAME donation.

An Italian Continental menu, including a deluxe cocktail hour, will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a full-curse dinner. Tickets are $85 per person. Reservations must be paid in advance and will be accepted through March 26. Tickets will not be available at the door.
