There was no column last week because of a computer glitch. Me! I sent the column to Legion Riders. Anyway here it is.

Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day happens on Saturday, March 27, at 55 Water Street-Lobby Promenade. This is adjacent to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza. The reading of the names goes from noon to 1 p.m.;1 to 2:30 p.m. refreshments andreunion. from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Ceremonial Event which includes a video presentation: The Legacy, Paul Bucha, Medal of Honor Recipient, U.S. Army, Vietnam. John Rowan, National President, Vietnam Veterans of America. Presentation of Proclamation from New York State. All Vietnam vets in attendance will receive a personal copy of this Proclamation. Date 2: on March 18,, inside the home of the “Fighting 69th” a documentary on Ssgt Christian Engeldrum and the artist who painted his portrait will be shown at 5:45pm followed by a performance by the Lt. Dan Band at 7pm. All proceeds go to the Ssgt. Christian Engeldrum Scholarship Fund.

The Bronx Veterans Parade Committee is holding it’s 2nd Annual Fundraiser on Thursday, April 2d at the Marina del Rey. Tickets are $80 per person. Kids 12 years and under $25.
