40th PCT.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 1:05 a.m. – 512 East 145 St. The staff at Lincoln Medical Center’s Emergency Room treated two victims of a stabbing. A 20 year old black male was suffering from a stab wound to the back while a Hispanic male, also 20 years old, was stabbed four times in the back. Detectives have been assigned to conduct an inquiry.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 2:55 p.m. – 2520 Park Ave. Local authorities were alerted by Manhattan police officers that a shooting had occurred. A black male went to St. Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan after being shot in the shoulder. Since the incident occurred in the Bronx, local investigators from the Alexander Ave. Detective Squad will handle the follow-up inquiry.

SAT, DEC. 26th, 11:15 p.m. – 668 East 161 St. Detectives are looking into a shooting that cost the male victim his life. The 25 year old man had been shot once in the face and was transported to Lincoln Medical Center where he expired. Local sleuths will take over the inquiry from the patrol officers who were at the scene.

MON, DEC. 28th, 2:50 p.m. – 727 East 156 St. A search was conducted for a Hispanic female who invaded a home. The female culprit knocked on the door of the victim’s apartment. Once the door was opened, the victim was pushed inside the home. Its reported that the attacking woman struck the victim in the face. Before she fled, the female culprit gathered money and jewelry from the victim’s home.

42nd PCT.

WED, DEC. 23rd, 11:00 a.m. – 1409 Fulton Ave. Officials are looking into the suspicious death of a 37 year old black woman after her body was discovered inside her bedroom. Detectives will wait for the results of the Medical Examiner’s report so that they will be armed with additional information that will help to pin point the woman cause of death.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 10:25 a.m. – 3289 Third Ave. Additional police officers were redeployed into the South Bronx after a 22 year old male was shot. The Latino man was suffering from a bullet wound to the left hip when he arrived at Lincoln Medical Center. Police investigators are looking to question a black male about the incident.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 6:00 p.m. – 500 East 171 St. Police are searching for a black male who at gunpoint car-jacked a vehicle. Police were looking around the surrounding area, but came up empty handed.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 5:30 a.m. – 1570 Claremont Pkwy. Police recovered the possible weapon that was used to stab a male. The man was transported to an area hospital after being attacked in the street. A knife was found at the scene by authorities.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 4:45 p.m. – 897 Melrose Ave. A 45 year old Hispanic male was stabbed once according to officials at Lincoln Medical Center. The male victim was stabbed once in the lower abdominal area.

43rd PCT.

WED, DEC. 23rd, 11:55 a.m. – Bruckner Blvd. and Metcalf Ave. A 44 year old black male fell victim to two armed culprits. The unidentified pair, black males, robbed the middle-aged man of his wallet and watch at gunpoint. Additional police officers were deployed into the area but were unable to locate the suspects. After awhile investigators ended up arresting the victim. The 44 year old man was charged with criminal possession of a control substance in addition to filing a false report.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 2:10 a.m. – 549 Commonwealth Ave. Police officers were trying to gather information and evident connected to a shooting that took the life of the male victim. Officials indicated that a man expired shortly after being shot in the head. Local detectives will continue the inquiry where patrol officers had stopped.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 2:30 p.m. – 875 Morrison Ave. Posing as police officers, two males conducted a home invasion. The black male culprits banged on the victim’s door stating that they were police officers. Once inside, the pair gathered the victim’s property. They fled with a laptop computer and a video game.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 2:10 a.m. – 2033 McGraw Ave. Detectives are looking into a homicide that occurred in the Parkchester area. A man had been stabbed in the neck authorities indicated. All effects to assist the male victim failed when the man expired around 2:30 a.m.

SAT, DEC. 26th, 1:55 a.m. – 1168 Stratford Ave. Police are looking into an incident where a 28 year old black male had been shot in the back. The man was transported to Lincoln Medical Center. Detectives are looking for any possible witness to the incident.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 8:45 p.m. – Wheeler Ave. and East 172 St. A 30 year old black male was arrested when police officers found him with an unregistered revolver. Vouched by police officers as evidence was a 38 caliber revolver.

44th PCT.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 6:20 a.m. – 1331 Jerome Ave. Authorities are looking for the culprit who broke into a commercial business. Taken during a burglary was reported to be over twenty-eight thousand dollars.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 8:50 p.m. – Jerome Ave. and 172 St. Police are looking into an incident where a male had been shot. Bronx officers learned of the shooting after Manhattan police officers had been dispatched to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Washington Heights. The victim went to the Manhattan hospital on his own seeking medical help. The 26 year old Hispanic man had been shot three times according to medical officials.

45th PCT.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 12:45 p.m. – East Tremont Ave. and Randall Ave. Authorities reassigned additional police officers into the Throggs Neck area after an armed robbery occurred. An unknown black male armed with a handgun fled with over a thousand dollars from the victim. The additional police officers searched the surrounding area looking for the culprit but the suspect was no where to be found.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 12:45 a.m. – 100 Co-op City Blvd. Police were called to the Co-op City community after a woman apparently took her own life. A 46 year old woman jumped to her death from a residential building. Later on local authorities learned that the woman was a suspect in a stabbing that occurred in Harlem. The victim of the Manhattan incident was transported to Harlem Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

MON, DEC. 28th, 4:30 a.m. – 4029 East Tremont Ave. The sounds of a gun being fired woken area residents. Apparently two shots were fired at a livery cab in the area of Sampson Ave. in the Throggs Neck section. No injuries were reported, however evidence was recovered supporting the original report.

46th PCT.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 9:55 a.m. – 124 East 176 St. A six month old baby girl was rushed unconscious to Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Despite effects to save the infant, she expired within a half-an hour.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 1:00 p.m. – 235 East Tremont Ave. Investigators are looking for the person who attempted to use a counterfeit bill. The male culprit attempted to pass a one hundred dollar bill at a 99 cent store. Once it was determined that the money was counterfeit, police were summoned and an inquiry is underway.

SAT, DEC. 26th, 12:50 a.m. – 5 Buchanan Pl. A 28 year old Hispanic male was arrested after he was found in possession of an illegal firearm. Recovered was a 45-caliber semi-automatic pistol.

47th PCT.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 9:05 p.m. – 3418 Boston Rd. Authorities are looking for a Hispanic male who robbed a store. The male entered the store, and at gun point announced the robbery. He was given seven hundred dollars before fleeing.

48th PCT.

FRI, DEC. 25th, 7:15 a.m. – Arthur Ave. and Oak Tree Pl. An unidentified male seeking urgent help went up to a passing police car looking for medical assistance. The man told the officers that he had been stabbed and proceeded to collapse. The officers requested the immediate response of an ambulance. The unknown male was rushed to nearby St. Barnabas Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Detectives are now investigating the attack.

49th PCT.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 3:15 p.m. – 1392 East Gun Hill Rd. A search was conducted by additional police officers who were deployed into the community for two black armed males who robbed a neighborhood store. The two culprits fled with an unknown amount of money and a clerk’s wallet. No injuries were reported.

MON, DEC. 28th, 2:20 a.m. – Allerton Ave. and White Plains Rd. Two males were arrested after a 31 year old Hispanic male was attacked. The Latino man was slashed in the left side of the neck during the incident. The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center. Now, the local sleuths will handle the follow-up inquiry.

52nd PCT.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 4:30 p.m. – 2570 Briggs Ave. Investigators are looking for three Hispanic males who were acting as if they were police officers. The trio gained entry into a home upon displaying badges. A woman along with her son were secured by the three culprits who fled with three thousand dollars. Both victims escaped injuries.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 3:30 p.m. – A 31 year old state worker was arrested by local police officers. Nabbed driving without a suspended driver’s license was a state corrections officer.

MON, DEC. 28th, 11:45 p.m. – Jerome Ave. and West 183 St. The victim of a chain snatch was also stabbed during the incident. The unidentified victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where they were treated for a stab wound to the side. Detectives are now handling the inquiry.

Housing

WED, DEC. 23rd, 3:10 p.m. – 635 Castle Hill Ave. A police officer assigned to Housing’s PSA # 8 arrested a suspect who was illegally in possession of a 22-caliber handgun.

SAT, DEC. 26th, 9:00 p.m. – 350 East 137 St. Housing police officers from PSA # 7 are looking for five black males who attacked a male on the second floor of a Housing Authority building. Authorities learned of the incident after the victim appeared at Montifiore Hospital seeking treatment for a stab wound. The victim was leaving a friend’s home when he was confronted by the five culprits in a hallway. The victim was robbed and assaulted by the unknown group, including being stabbed in the left side of the stomach.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 5:55 a.m. – 658 Prospect Ave. A 29 year old woman spend time behind bars in a jail after being nabbed with an unregistered gun. Taken from Justina Vargas was a semi-automatic pistol. The arrest was made by police officers from Housing’s PSA # 7.

Fire Log

WED, DEC. 23rd, 6:16 a.m. – 1715 Walton Ave. Red Cross workers assisted eight persons which including a child with relocation services after their homes near East 176 St. were damaged by a two-alarm blaze. Firefighters apparently had problems locating the fire since it has been reported that they were given several different addresses. After locating the blaze, the fire was rapidly spreading from the second floor extending to the third and fourth floors before the smoke-eaters were able to contain it within the five story high dwelling. The second alarm was sounded at 6:51 a.m. causing the additional response of more then eight additional units. At 8:03 a.m., the incident was declared under control.

WED, DEC. 23rd, 7:00 a.m. – 759 East 138 St. Ambulance personnel treated a person for chemical exposure. Officials indicated that the incident was minor and that emergency personnel had left the scene within 70 minutes.

WED, DEC. 23rd, 7:10 a.m. – 20 East Clark Pl. As local firefighters battled a two-alarm fire on Walton Ave. other firefighters who were being deployed to cover empty fire stations were directed right off of highways by Bronx Fire Alarm Dispatchers to an apartment house just south of East 170 St. The fire was reported in the basement of the six story high apartment house. Based on their knowledge of the community, fire dispatchers were able to provide fire units with the route that expedited their responses knowing that help was desperately needed at the scene. The blaze affected the utilities for the apartment house forcing city agencies to assist the tenants long after the blaze was extinguished. A dozen persons were treated by ambulance crews including a firefighter.

THURS, DEC. 24th, 6:02 a.m. – 530 East 137 St. A Latino male was transported to a hospital in Manhattan after being injured in a fire. The unidentified victim was transported to Metropolitan Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

SUN, DEC. 27th, 9:52 a.m. – 4047 White Plains Rd. A fire destroyed a one story commercial structure in the Wakefield community. The blaze was located in a beauty salon according to firefighters who were on the scene. A hose line was stretched and as water was pumped into the hose line. The water was used to extinguish the visible flames. Two injuries were reported and treated by ambulance crews. The incident was declared suspicious.
