40th PCT.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 2:25 a.m. – 676 East 141 St. Another male was taken into custody by local under-cover police officers. The male culprit had a 9-mm pistol in his possession when the Anti-Crime Police Officers made the arrest.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 4:50 a.m. – 332 Jackson Ave. An early morning raid by police armed with a search warrant netted six arrests for authorities in addition to the recovery of an accumula-tion of various dangerous weapons. Officials indicated that 19 various firearms were removed and vouched as evi-dence in addition to other equipment including vests, bullets, and silencers. The guns included sub-machine guns, shotguns, rifles, and various handguns.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 1:10 a.m. – 599 Morris Ave. Authorities are looking into a double shoot-ing. A 22 year old Hispanic male was suffering from a bullet wound to the left leg while a 16 year old black male had been shot in the abdomen. Both victims were taken to Lincoln Medical Center as detectives attempted to interview possible witnesses.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 4:40 a.m. – 458 East 143 St. Police in-vestigators are looking into another shooting. This time four males had been shot. One vic-tim expired and the other three were taken to Lincoln Medical Center in stable condition.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 10:05 p.m. – 342 East 148 St. A lover’s triangle left two persons suffering from stab wounds. A male apparently stabbed his former girlfriend in the chest and her current boyfriend in the head and chest. Both victims were transported to Lincoln Medical Center. Local detec-tives will handle the inquiry.

41st PCT.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 1:10 a.m. – 1020 Bryant Ave. A Hispanic male was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center. The male vic-tim was suffering from two stab wounds upon entering the facil-ity. The medical staff treated the victim for wounds to the side and back. Detectives are cur-rently looking into the incident.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 4:00 a.m. – 1152 Randall Ave. Authorities learned about a stabbing after the victim arrived at Jacobi Medical Center. The victim informed investigators that he was stabbed while in front of a club in the Hunts Point section. Besides the stabbing victim, another male was suffering from a broken leg, and two more males had various bruises.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 2:55 a.m. – 523 Bruckner Blvd. A male was admitted to Lincoln Medi-cal Center suffering from a stab wound. Police investigators were attempting to gather in-formation about the attack.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 4:40 a.m. – 555 Timpson Pl. Police offi-cers took another armed culprit off the streets when the His-panic person was arrested and the illegal gun was vouched.

42nd PCT.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 1:20 a.m. – 3310 Third Ave. Authorities are looking into a stabbing inci-dent that sent two Hispanic males to Lincoln Medical Cen-ter. One of the victim arrived at the hospital in critical condition but after being at the hospital for a while, his condition im-proved greatly. The second male was reported to be in stable condition. Currently local sleuths are handling the inquiry.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 12:40 p.m. – Tinton Ave. and East 163 St. Police officers this time re-moved a 9-mm pistol from local streets.

43rd PCT.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 4:20 a.m. – Westchester Ave. and Elder Ave. Investigators are looking for a Hispanic male. Four males were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center after being stabbed by two Hispanic males. Respond-ing police officers nabbed one of the suspects, but detectives are looking for the second cul-prit. The four victims were ad-mitted to Jacobi Medical Center with one of the victims reported to be in critical condition.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 1:58 p.m. – 1051 Elder Ave. An assault on a 21 year old male sent the Hispanic male to Jacobi Medical Center. The young man had been stabbed in the left arm, chest, and stomach areas. The victim was reported to be in stable condition as detectives look into the attack.

44th PCT.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 4:15 p.m. – 1660 Topping Ave. A 53 year old Hispanic man was arrested and charged with criminal pos-session of a weapon. Authori-ties vouched a 25-caliber pistol that the man had in his posses-sion.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 7:00 p.m. – 1530 Sheridan Ave. Five arrests were made as police officers vouched another unreg-istered gun. This time taken off of local streets was a shot gun.

45th PCT.

WED, FEB. 17th, 3:30 p.m. – 35 Westchester Square. Police sleuths were busy gath-ering information about a bank robbery that occurred at a branch of the Capital Savings Bank. The unknown Caucasian male culprit passed a note to a teller stating that this was a robbery and just to smile. The employee was directed not to activate any alarms. Without showing any weapon, the em-ployee provided the thief with an unknown amount of money before he fled.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 6:15 a.m. – 2744 Dewey Ave. A 23 year old man was arrested as police were able to voucher a 9-mm pistol. The suspect, William Vaughn, was arrested as authorities removed the weapon from his possession.

46th PCT.

WED, FEB. 17th, 10:45 a.m. – 1800 Popham Ave. A search was conducted after police learned of a home inva-sion. Two Hispanic males at gunpoint upon entering the victim’s apartment proceeded to tie up the three occupants. No injuries were reported, but the culprits fled with a box containing unknown items. Detectives will handle the follow up inquiry.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 4:35 a.m. – 2055 Harrison Ave. A dispute during a house party in the West Bronx ended with three males being stabbed. The three Hispanic males were trans-ported to Bronx Lebanon Hospi-tal all suffering from stab wound authorities indicated. A 21 year old male was stabbed in the neck and chest areas while another same age victim was stabbed in the arm pit on the left side of the body. The third victim, a 20 year old male also was stabbed in the armpit. Two culprits were arrested as the inquiry continues.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 11:50 p.m. – Major Deegan Expwy. and Cross Bronx Expwy. Accident Investigators from Highway 1’s Squad are working with local detectives after a male was struck and killed on the exit ramp. The unidentified black male was apparently collecting soda cans along the busy road-way when he was killed by a minivan.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 11:25 p.m. – 1881 Grand Concourse. A 15 year old girl was arrested as police officers took away a 38-caliber revolver that was found in her possession.

47th PCT.

WED, FEB. 17th, 9:25 a.m. – 600 East 233 St. A 22 year old black male was stabbed twice. Police were requested to respond to Montifiore Hospi-tal’s northern division in the Wakefield section. The young woman was suffering from two stab wounds to the breast area. Detectives were alerted after the victim walked into the hos-pital seeking assistance. An inquiry is underway.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 2:00 a.m. – Murdock Ave. and East 242 St. Three more persons were ar-rested as police removed a semi-automatic pistol from Baychester streets. This time a 25-caliber pistol was vouched as evidence.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 3:35 a.m. – 4639 White Plains Rd. Police investigators are faced with a homicide inquiry. A male died after being shot once in the chest. A search was conducted for the culprit.

48th PCT.

WED, FEB. 17th, 3:25 p.m. – 1897 Crotona Ave. A 33 year old Hispanic male was arrested after being found in possession of an unregistered handgun. Luis Torres was nabbed while in possession of a 22-caliber revolver. He could be facing a year in jail if convicted.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 12:55 p.m. – Washington Ave. and East Fordham Rd. While issuing a summons, a city worker was struck by a water bottle. The worker, a city traffic agent was in the process of issuing the summons when she was struck by a water bottle. The injured woman was taken to St. Barna-bas Hospital complaining of pain. The attacker fled before help arrived.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 11:55 p.m. – 1917 Southern Blvd. A search was conducted for three His-panic males. The trio entered a bodega, and at gunpoint robbed the business. The trio de-manded money and was pro-vided with an unknown amount of cash before they fled.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 1:20 a.m. – 505 East 178 St. Police offi-cers arrested a male suspect after responding to an incident where a female had been in-jured. Authorities report that a 24 year old female had been apparently pushed out of a window. Suffering from a back injury, the young woman was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital.

49th PCT.

THURS, FEB. 18th, 4:45 a.m. – 2055 Cruger Ave. Police investigators were trying to gather all the facts concerning a stabbing that sent a male victim to Jacobi Medical Center. The victim was treated at the hospi-tal for a wound to the chest area. Police looking into the incident made two arrests in-cluding the victim based on cross-complaints.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 4:25 a.m. – 1831 Unionport Ave. Police officers detoured traffic permit-ting workers from the city’s DEP agency workers to make emer-gency repairs. A water main had broken, but no injuries were reported by the first responders.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 7:35 p.m. – 660 Arnow Ave. Authorities are looking into an incident where shots had been fired into an apartment. Responding offi-cers indicated that no one was injured.

50th PCT.

THURS, FEB. 18th, 8:15 p.m. – 6065 Broadway. Special investigators are looking into a vehicle accident that sent two pedestrians to St. Barnabas Hospital. The two victims, one in critical condition, were struck as they were crossing the street. The vehicle driver was transported to Allen Pavilion in northern Manhattan and was treated for trauma. The initial investigation indicated that there was no criminally involved in the accident. Working with local detectives are specially trained police officers from Highway 1’s Accident Investiga-tion Squad.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 6:10 a.m. – 3530 Henry Hudson Pkwy. Police officers were kept at bay by a woman with a known past mental history in the Riverdale section. The woman locked herself inside an apartment armed with a knife. She appar-ently threatened to injury herself and police officers from the Emergency Service Squad were called. The woman kept authori-ties at bay for nearly four hours before police officers placed her into custody without anyone being injured. The woman was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital for assistance.

52nd PCT.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 5:00 p.m. – Webster Ave. and East 197 St. Bronx police officers as-sisted Westchester County police in capturing three sus-pects. The county police chased the trio across county lines into the Bedford Park community after the trio was spotted in a stolen vehicle. Despite their effects, police arrested the three culprits.

TRANSIT

WED, FEB. 17th, 12:50 p.m. – Police officers from Transit District 11 required additional help when they re-moved an emotional disturbed person from the railroad right-away between East 183 St. and Fordham Rd.

Housing

SAT, FEB. 20th, 2:35 a.m. – 1760 Watson Ave. Police officers looking into a report that shots had been fired found evident supporting the original claim. Officers from Housing’s PSA # 8 and the 43rd Pct. also indicated that addition bullets had been fired in the area of 1085 Beach Ave. Detectives from the 43rd Pct. Squad will handle the inquiry. No injuries were reported.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 9:30 p.m. – 2280 Randall Ave. Police officers looking into a possible stabbing learned that the wound was self-inflicted. The staff at Jacobi Medical Center treated the black male.

Fire Log

WED, FEB. 17th, 2:40 p.m. – 930 East Tremont Ave. Two persons were treated at St, Barnabas Hospital after being exposed to poisonous fumes in a building that houses a medical center. Firefighters contained a blaze in a Con Edison manhole that pumped the dangerous gas and fumes into the nearby structure. The building had to be evacuated as firefighters checking for Carbon Monoxide with special meters received dangerous reading forcing an evacuation.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 10:52 a.m. – 830 Mace Ave. Emergency units responded to St. Lucy’s School near Bronxwood Ave after receiving a report that there was an strong gas odor. Firefighters helped to evacuate four hundred students from the building. The incident was de-clared under control at 11:32 a.m. by the 15th Battalion.

FRI, FEB. 19th, 9:48 p.m. – 1348 Webster Ave. Two per-sons were treated at St. Barna-bas Hospital for injuries re-ceived during a fire. The victims were suffering from smoke inhalation generated by a fire on the third floor of the 19-story high apartment building. The fire was under control by 10:10 p.m.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 4:43 a.m. – 370 Cypress Ave. Four fire-fighters were reported injured during a fire that also injured two civilians. The 2nd alarm blaze was in a five-story apart-ment house causing several families to be displaced. Red Cross workers providedpeople with needed assistance. Two injured residents suffered from smoke inhalation and chest pains. The fire was under con-trol at 5:44 a.m.

SAT, FEB. 20th, 6:54 p.m. – 1836 Watson Ave. A fire in an apartment house in the Sound View area injured three persons. Officials indicated that a woman suffered from smoke inhalation while a second female victim, 39 year old Mary Carter, jumped from the fifth floor, suffering a broken leg from the 7-story high building. A male occupant, 52 year old Robert Harley, was severely burned. The emergency room staff at Jacobi Medical Center treated all three victims before they were admitted. Firefighters conducting an aggressive attack were able to knock down the flames in less then 30 minutes. Battling the blaze was Engine 96, 64, 90, and 94, along with Ladders 54 and 47 under the command of Battalion 18 and the 6th Division.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 12:00 p.m. – 1820 Loring Pl. South. Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the West Bronx. First arriving units concentrated on battling the blaze and rescue operations. A ten year old Hispanic girl was treated for second degree burns to the face, head, and neck. She was transported to Jacobi Medical Center’s Burn Center where they specialize in treating burns.

SUN, FEB. 21st, 2:00 p.m. – 2156 Cruger Ave. Arson investigators are attempting to learn the cause of a fire that damaged an apartment house. A resident was admitted to Jacobi Medical Center suffering from 2nd and 3rd degree burns to nearly 45% of the body besides smoke. The victim, 57 year old Phyllis Chowdhurry was taken to Jacobi by EMS after receiving medical care at the scene. A second alarm was sounded at 2:26 p.m. and the fire, thanks to some hard-hitting firefighting, the fire was placed under con-trol at 3:00 p.m. The smoke-eaters stop the fire from spreading into the roof area and the top floor which was all ready traveling upward inside the building walls.
