Ruff rent leads to pet groomer move

Morris Park pets will soon enjoy a change in scenery. Pet Parlor plans to move from Williamsbridge Road to Morris Park Avenue.

For more than a decade, pet owners brought their furry friends to 2117 Williamsbridge Road for nail cuts, blowouts, hot oil treatments, skin treatments, organic pet food and pet toys. Pet Parlor will offer the same and more around the corner.

A rent hike pushed owner Karen Condon to find a new storefront.Condon found a perfect spot only three blocks away, near the Animal Hospital of Morris Park and larger than the Williamsbridge Road parlor.

“The rent is so high, I can’t groom enough dogs to pay anymore,” Condon said.“The new [rent] is much more reasonable and we’ll be able to do more.”

As of Monday, March 1, Pet Parlor will operate from 1129 Morris Park Avenue.

“I love the new location,” Condon said. “I’m right across from Ann Clair’s, the best deli in Morris Park. Morris Park Animal Hospital is right next to me.”

Condon assured her loyal customers that Pet Parlor’s services will remain the same.Condon will continue to find owners for homeless kittens and cats. She fosters the felines temporarily at the salon.

Pet Parlor’s hours will remain 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.For more information dial (718) 823-8619.
