A Van Hoeson Avenue resident, Pietro Cascione, was arrested on Thursday, March 15, for allegedly harassing and attempting to assault a neighbor.
According to police reports, the complainant stated that on September 3, 2011, Cascione allegedly approached him, stated derogatory remarks, emptied a can filled with leaves over the person’s head, and pushed the person causing them to fall back and strike their back on a tree.
The neighbor stated in the report that the alleged harassment by Cascione began two years ago, when he “began calling her derogatory names and threatening harm to her.”
The neighbor filed a subsequent report on Thursday, March 1, when it was observed that Cascione had allegedly placed swastikas in two windows of his home that directly faced her home.
On Friday, March 2, the neighbor obtained a restraining order against Cascione, “as a result of the defendant’s past conduct towards her, she felt threatened and experienced annoyance, alarm and emotional distress,” the report stated.
A visit to Cascione’s home on Thursday, March 15, did not yield views of swastikas posted any where on the home. The visit did, however, witness signs stating negative remarks about Community Affairs Officer Victor DiPierro and Deputy Inspector Kevin Nicholson of the 49 Precinct.
According to police sources, Cascione is allegedly suing DiPierro and Nicholson as a result of the incident. The case is currently on going, no comment could be obtained.
