The chief executive officer of the Bronx-Manhattan Association of Realtors is stepping down after nearly 30 years at its helm.
But expect the organizaiton’s programing and events to stay pretty much the same as the group seeks a replacement.
Nunzio Del Greco, CEO of the trade organization that represents realtors and provides educational training and programming, leaves the Bronx-Manhattan Association of Realtors running smoothly, with a capable staff to run networking events and educational programs, said Richard Guarino.
Guarino began a two-year term as president of the board of governors on Saturday, September 1.
“I don’t think we are going to feel much of a hiccup from Nunzio leaving, though he will be missed,” said Guarino.
“We will do what we have to do to fill Nunzio’s shoes as quickly as possible.”
Since Del Greco was the CEO for so long, his staff is “well-groomed” and should be able to run the organization with the board of governors while a replacement is found.
“We are looking for someone with ties to the Bronx, and maybe to the real estate marketplace,” said Guarino. “Whether they work for another non-profit, a real estate office, or even in a political office, we are looking for someone who understands the Bronx, and is young and hungry to grow this organization.”
Guarino is a co-founder and managing director of ERG Property Advisors, which specializes in investment properties.
He leads a team of salespeople for Bronx properties.
Kathy Zamechansky was selected to a two-year term as president-elect, in a position similar to vice president, taking over whenever Guarino leaves office.
“It is with pride and enthusiasm that I prepare to lead this incredible organization,” said Zamechansky, president of KZA Realty Group, “and I am especially humbled to be one of six women to have this opportunity.”
The Bronx-Manhattan North Association of Realtors is the local chapter of the New York State and National Association of Realtors.
