“Wolfpack” gang arrested

An east Bronx wolfpack found itself caged last week.

FBI agents swooped in at several local homes to arrest members of a low-level Albanian gang dubbed the “Wolfpack” for gun running and trafficking drugs in the borough.

Thirteen gang members were charged, with several arrested at their homes in Country Club, Allerton and Morris Park during the early morning of September 18 by the FBI’s Balkan Organized Task Force, which specializes in investigating criminals with eastern European ties.

Federal prosecutors charged that for years the pack sold cocaine, Oxycodone and marijuana, with a Bronx base of operations.

The pack also used violence to muscle out rival drug dealers, according to Mary Galligan, the local FBI’s acting director-in charge.

“This organization is aptly named,” she said. “This type of alleged activity posed a threat to the safety of everyone.”

But law enforcement posed a “triple threat” against the group, said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly. “The Wolfpack learned the hard way.”

Charged with overseeing the drug network was Christopher “Dok40” Nrecaj, 29, arrested August 10 along with his brother David.

The pair ran into trouble for brawling outside a Long Island nightclub in 2006.

Christopher Nrecaj, a bulky Albanian man with the word “loyalty” etched on his chest, would often flaunt his lavish lifestyle on Twitter with pictures of Louis Vuitton clothing and a number of watches.

Others rounded up included Frankie “Freak” Frokaj, Driton “Tone Capone” Haxhijaj, and Jason “J-Hood” Villalona.

Several members hail from Albania, authorities said, with a mob element established in various parts of the Bronx.

If convicted, the men face up to 40 years in federal prison.
