Boro foodies will love Savor the Bronx! Restaurant Week

Add a dash of Italian cuisine, sprinkle some old world European fare, mix in a morale booster, and voila you get the Bronx’s 2nd annual Savor the Bronx! Restaurant Week.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 5 until Friday the 16th, foodies have a chance to wolf down some mouth-watering meals at discounted prices across the borough.

The event comes amid a cloud of despair for the borough, still cleaning up from Hurricane Sandy.

The 12-day event was supposed to start Oct. 29, but Sandy forced the startup off the menu.

Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., juggling the assessment and promotion of the event, refused to call Restaurant Week off, calling it “good morale” for small-time eateries.

“The businesses have not had any traffic for almost a week or so,” said Diaz. “We need to keep things going.”

The event is sponsored by American Express and the New York State Restaurant Association, The Bronx Tourism Council and co-hosted by the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corp.
