If there is one thing Sandy taught us, it is to be prepared.
Now the Federal Emergency Management Agency is offering advice on how to prepare for the next great disaster, especially if you and your family may not be in the same place when disaster strikes.
Some of the plan may include how to get to a safe place; how you will contact one another; how you will get back together; and what to do in different situations.
According to FEMA, you should also inquire about emergency plans at places where your family spends time: work, daycare and school, faith organizations, sports venues, and commuting. If no plans exist, consider volunteering to help create one.
